It was their wedding day. Everything was set up to be perfect, their dream wedding. It was their wedding day, and Tony was about to die. A new villain, Dr. Sataari, had some very advanced tech, more futuristic than Tony's. By Sataari's doing, he lay there on the floor of his mansion with his chest reactor just feet away from him struggling feebly to try and get it to put it back in. He was dying. He saw his life flash before his eyes. His parents, growing up a genius, inheriting Stark Industries, hiring Pepper, getting captured, being held captive, becoming Iron Man, The Avengers, kissing Pepper, the proposal. His eyes fought to stay open. He needed to stay alive! He heaved a sigh, closed his eyes and whispered:
"I love you, Pepper." PEPPER. He needed to fight. He couldn't lose this fight, he couldn't leave her there, standing at the altar. He couldn't die. He struggled and squirmed with the tiny amount of energy he had left. He reached out slowly and gripped the chest reactor. He weakly put it back in its place. He breathed a sigh of relief. He stood up and hopped in the shower to rinse the blood off of him. Smile, Tony it's your wedding day. He thought to himself and smiled in the mirror. He took his fastest car, grabbed the rings and his tux and sped off to the chapel. Rhodey, his best man, greeted him at the door.
"Hey dude, where have you been?"
"Just dying, no big deal." A look of shock and concern clouded Rhodey's face. "DON'T tell Pep, she'll freak out."
"I won't, you okay bro?" Tony nodded. They got dressed, and headed off into the main room to stand in their places. Suddenly, the music began to play and the doors flew open to reveal a beautiful woman, all dressed in white.
It was their wedding day. Everything was set up to be perfect, their dream wedding. It was their wedding day, and Tony was certain that this was the one day he could not afford to die.
