Eagleland.

23XX.

Travis was asleep in his bed. He was having a very pleasant dream about his mother and him frolicking through a sunflower field. It was nice. Until... his older brother, Zack, woke him up.

"Hey, T. Me and you a-are goin' to the library. Wake up, man." He must've gotten into father's liquor again. His words sounded weird, like he had almost forgotten how to speak english.

Travis felt strange. He turned over and looked over at the clock on his drawer. "Zack, it's 4 a.m. right now. Go to bed."

The 13 year-old's voice sounded weak. He wasn't given an option. Zack pulled him out of bed, and onto the wooden floor. It gave the kind of squeak that makes you want to not have ears anymore. Noticing that his brother wouldn't take no for an answer, he threw on his blue hoodie and jeans, and went outside to the car. He shivered in the Winter cold.

Even though he looked wasted, Travis was surprised at how well his brother was driving. "Ok. We're on the road. Now why are we headed to the library." He hated not knowing where he was going, or why he was going somewhere.

"Don't ask fucking q-questions, alright." His words were slurred. Travis ignored that last bit, and thought about his bed and his mom. And how bad he wanted to be in those sunflower fields again.

When they pulled up to the library, Travis helped Zack inside. When he got close, he could smell the alcohol in his brother's breath. In Onettville, everyone was very trusting, so the library was open, even though no one was there.

"I'm gonna go look for this thing, you can look at all the baby books." Zack said with a chuckle. Travis rolled his eyes, and stuck his hands in his hoodie pocket. He walked over to a huge row. Almost no books there, except for one at the end. It was a big book on a stand. The reason it was the only book in that row was because the sides of the row were plastered with portraits and news articles and autographs. These people didn't even look important.

Travis had heard the legends of these heroes many times. Every kid is told it atleast once. Kid's save the the world from aliens. But this was different, somehow.

They were kids, that was for sure. But they were about his age. There weren't any pictures of these three heroes together, but it was obvious why. From the quality of each photo of each hero, Travis could tell the heroes were all 20 years apart, atleast.

The first two were quite similar, with baseball caps and striped shirts. The third one seemed the most recent. He didn't wear a cap. He did take up the striped shirt, though. After the Heroes of Nowhere and Eagleland were gone, striped shirts became pretty popular with the crowd, since all the Heroes wore them. my

They all had plenty of friends, but the blond hero only had adult friends. And a dog. Maybe it was a scouting dog, because who would take a regular dog with them to the ends of the earth? The blond had a man with him that looked almost French, and a beautiful and surprisingly muscular pink haired woman.

Past the blond was the book itself on its stand. It was titled, "PSI and the Heroes who used it." This was interesting. "Maybe I could be a hero..." said Travis as he reached for the book. His hands were very shaky. As he grabbed it, he opened it up to a random page and started to read the important landmarks section aloud.

"Podunk? Osohe castle? Winters and Summers? what kind of name is that?" These seemed like almost random words, but apparently they were extremely important at one point.

He flipped to another page, where there were documents about reports of aliens. He saw that after they saved the world, the three were questioned about their powers.

Their magic.

Their witchcraft .

Their PSI.

The first hero was executed because the people thought he was using dark magic.

The second hero was taken to a facility where they could safely study his PSI. Afterwards, he would return to his hometown, which is said to have been this same town, 200 years ago.

And the blond was kept in his village, because his father and friends refused to have him taken away.

This was very interesting. There was detailed information of the Heroes and their friends lives before they were heroes. When his brother told him it was time to head home, Travis took the book with him. He was obsessed with PSI, these Heroes, and the story the book had to tell.

Travis got home and was almost about to go to bed, but he remembered the book. He couldn't wait to read more.
