Prompt: Teach me something
After two years on Atlantis, Ronon had learned a lot about Earth, but he was interested to know more.
When he and Jen began getting to know each other they'd come up with a game. He would tell her something about Sateda and she, in turn, would tell him something about Earth.
She told him about chick flicks, and how she loved watching John Cusack hold something she called a boom box over his head.
He told her about yong tail soup and how it was the only thing he'd eat when he was sick as a child.
She told him about Christmas and kissing under the mistletoe.
He told her about how he and his friends would have contests to see who could climb the large Waylan tree.
She told him about school dances, about prom and how she always wished she could have gone.
He told her about his schooling, about all the things he'd learned to be a specialist.
She told him about her few relationships, about how they'd always left her unsatisfied and wanting more.
He told her about a custom on Sateda that went back farther than even he knew, "Satedans do not take intimacy lightly."
"What do you mean?" Jen asked.
"It means we do not engage in sexual activities with people we don't love. I've only loved one person; I've only been with one person."
"Oh," she said, just before he leaned in and kissed her. He'd kissed her before, but this kiss was different, it held a promise in it and when he pulled back her eyes widened and she said, "Oh," again, "Wow."
Ronon just smiled.
