Happy Thanksgiving
Everyone gathered at Nick and Jackie's house for Thanksgiving, even Nick's parents had made it and they would be staying with Nick and Jackie for a few days.
"Ok, before we eat let's go around and tell everyone what we are thankful for." Jillian suggested.
"Ok sounds good." Everyone agreed.
When it was Nick's turn he stood up and smiled.
"Well Jackie and I have a little something for all of you, excuse me and I'll be right back." He said as he got up and walked upstairs to the hallway closet.
"Jacks I'm not finding anything in here." He called to her.
"It's in our bedroom closet Nicky." She called back.
He came back down the stairs moments later carrying a huge sack.
"We got something for each of you." He said as he handed every guest a small box.
They opened the box and inside there was a folded up piece of paper.
They unfolded the paper and saw a letter which read.
We have a surprise for all of you. It may be pink, or blue, or both. We won't find out for a while but either way it will sure make us smile. Happy Thanksgiving! Love Nick, Jackie, Jasmine, Houston, Johnna, Karlie, Sloan, and Hundley!
Everyone read the note to themselves a couple of times.
"You're pregnant." Jill finally exclaimed.
Nick and Jackie broke out into a wide smile.
Pretty soon everyone was hugging the happy couple and once things had finally calmed down Jackie looked at Nick and smiled.
"They missed the second part of that surprise." She whispered to him.
Nick nodded.
"Yeah, they don't have a clue." He told her.
"Everyone." Jackie said, trying to get their attention to no avail.
"Everyone." She tried again but still no one would listen to her, they were just too excited.
"Freeze." She hollered just like she did at work when she was trying to get her students attention and they were being wild.
This worked, everyone stopped and looked at her.
"It's true, I am pregnant but there is another surprise in there that you missed. Read the letter again." She instructed.
Everyone reread the letter again but still no one caught on.
"Pancho, what do you mean it could be both, it's one or the other." Roger finally said.
"Normally yes, you'd be right, but not in this case." Nick told him with a smile, finally someone was catching on, at least slightly.
"It's twins!" Jill finally exclaimed, beyond excited.
"That's right!" Jackie told her. Jill jumped up, she was so excited she nearly knocked poor Karlie right off of her chair as she bumped it.
"I'm so sorry sweetheart." She told the little girl.
"Gammy funny." Karlie chuckled, clearly not bothered by her grandmother's antics.
Another round of excited hugs and congratulations erupted.
"Mommy can we eat now?" Jasmine asked impatiently a while later.
Everyone laughed.
"Yes sweetheart we can." Jackie told her.
After that everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving meal, extremely thankful for the two new blessings that were going to join the family!
