A/N: um i got this idea last night and i've been in a one shot mood so there will be a few more of these probably.
A better summary -because there wasn't enough room on the other- Eli's cleaning out Julia's things when he comes across a box that the hospital gave him after she died. Full of everything she had with her a the time. Thinking he's finally ready to open it he does; and the first thing on top is a letter addressed to him. Something Julia wrote but never gave him.

Dear Eli,
I'm sorry about our fight, we've been having so many lately I just…I just
don't understand how you can put up with me. You amazing Eli. I don't
know what I'd do without you. I'm really hoping you don't leave me over
this, I said a lot of things I didn't mean and I know that you did too. Can
we just move past this? I know how you can get over protective and with
my anger and trust issues it…well it tends to make things complicated but
we've worked through it before. We can work through it now. Please Eli
don't give up on me, on us…on this. Don't give up on what we have not yet.
Sorry I had to leave the park. I had to calm myself. I'm going to give this to
you once I get home kay? Once I get back you'll read this. I hope. So don't
give up on me Eli…because I love you.

A tear rolled sown Eli's face landing on the old, worm, folded-up piece of paper. The only thing that stopped him from bursting into tears was the fact that she forgave him and she knew when he said all those terrible things to her that he didn't mean it. He felt a little better knowing the last words she meant for him weren't out of spite; like he had thought for over a year.
There was one thing that was driving him insane though, and maybe saying it out loud would make him feel even the slightest bit better. In a whisper barely audible to himself Eli choked out, "You never came back." Dropping Julia's letter back into the box from which he found it and put his head in his hands and cried.
Just cried.
