So! This was actually inspired by a few Tumblr posts made by DoubleDeckerDuelist! I had asked if it was okay for me to make this fanfiction, as it was their idea.

So, shoutout and credit to DoubleDeckerDuelist of Tumblr, who came up with this idea, and inspired this fanfiction!

"Yugi…? What are you doing?"

"Don't worry about it, Atem. It's something that'll...help you, in a way."

"Yugi, what are you talking about? I'm confused," Atem said.

"I've been reading recently, while you've been asleep. I think I may have found a way to give you your own body." I said.

"Wait, really? Even so, if it's dangerous, I don't want you to try it. I don't want you getting hurt, Yugi," Atem said, concern laced in his tone.

"Atem. It'll be fine. And besides, no one else is here. I picked this spot specifically because I knew no one else would be here besides us. Now, just to make sure everything goes right, I'll have to take off the Puzzle. But, it'll only be for a little bit, I promise," I said to him. Before Atem could protest any more, I took the puzzle off, and set it to the side.

I had prepared myself accordingly. I took a deep breath, and started to unpack my backpack. Once I had everything out, I opened up the book I had, and turned to the right page. I took out the charcoal, and started to draw the transmutation circle. It was difficult, because I knew I had to make it exact. I didn't tell the others about this. I knew that they would've tried to stop me. After getting the transmutation circle complete, I went back to my backpack, and pulled out the ingredients I needed, and started placing them in the center of the circle.

35 litres of water.

20 kilograms of Carbon.

4 litres of Ammonia.

1.5 kilograms of Lime.

800 grams of Phosphorus.

250 grams of salt.

100 grams of Saltpeter.

80 grams of Sulfur.

7.5 grams of Fluorine.

5 grams of Iron.

3 grams of Silicon.

And 15 traces of other elements. I decided to add one more thing, hoping it would work. If it was true that I was his reincarnation, then it would work. I took a small knife, and slashed my finger. Hovering it over the center of the circle, I let a few drops fall directly into the other elements. I went to the edge of the transmutation circle, got on my knees, and too a deep breath. Filling my mind with images and thoughts of Atem, I clapped my hands together, and placed them on the circle. Immediately, blue lightning started shooting out from the circle. It jumped to the center, and surrounded the elements. A ball of the blue light started to form, and my hoped started to lift, until everything turned red. I wanted to jump back in fright, but I felt like I was glued to the spot I was in. From the center ball of light, hundreds of tiny, black hands shot out towards me. I couldn't move…! Why couldn't I move?!

Immense pain started to sink into me. I looked around for the source of the pain, and my eyes widened, seeing the little black hands literally tearing my left leg apart. As more pain registered into my mind, I started to scream.

Atem…!

Atem!

Why?!

Why was this happening?!

More of the little black hands started surrounding me. In fear, I shut my eyes, not wanting to see them tear me apart. After a while, I didn't hear anything. The silence was deafening. Opening my eyes, I saw I was in a blank white space. It was almost blinding. In front of me, sitting with a smirk on its featureless face, was a humanoid figure. I didn't feel any pain from my leg anymore.

"So. You're the one who attempted this, huh? I never expected you to even try," the figure said.

"Wh-Who are you? Where am I?" I asked.

"Me? Well, I have many names. God. Truth. The All-Knowing. But, that doesn't matter. As for where you are, you are here, because you attempted the most taboo thing an alchemist can do. Why were you attempting human transmutation?" the figure asked me.

"I….I just...I just wanted to give Atem his own body. I had no idea it would end up like this," I said.

"Aw. How selfless of you. However, let this be a warning for you. You're lucky your leg and something else of yours is all I took from you. Bye bye, now," the figure said, almost angrily. I felt a sudden force as I was thrust back to where I had been. The pain started up almost immediately again. I dragged myself to the Puzzle, and put it on.

"Atem…? I know what you may be thinking, but, I promise. I won't do it again," I sighed, holding the Puzzle close to my chest.

Something was off.

"Atem…?" I asked, looking at the Puzzle. I closed my eyes, concentrating as hard as I could to enter our Mind Rooms, but nothing. A sudden thought struck me.

"You're lucky your leg and something else of yours is all I took from you."

That something else….!

Atem!

It had taken Atem from me somehow!

No!

Scrambling to find a solution, I dragged myself to one of the suits of armor that were lining the walls. I dipped my finger in the bloody trail I had made from my missing leg, and drew a symbol on my arms, my chest, my other leg, any part I could reach on my body, having to repeatedly dip my finger in my blood. Once I had finished with my body, I drew the same symbol on the inside of the armor itself.

"Give him back! I don't care if you take anything else from me! Give Atem back to me!" I cried out, clapping my hands together again, and then placing one on myself, the other on the armor.

Almost immediately, I was transported back to the blindingly white space. The figure was grinning widely at me.

"Whatever is the matter, Yugi? Did you not get what you wanted?" it asked.

"Give him back to me. You can take anything else you want from me, I don't care. My other leg, my arms, even my heart. Just give him back!" I yelled. Truth, I had decided to call the figure, kept its wide grin.

"As you wish, Yugi. Just know that all wishes, no matter what, have a price," it giggled. Again, I was thrust back to the place I had been. Pain again, even more than before. I took in the sight of my leg again, but my right leg was fine. However, my right side was off. My entire right arm, even my shoulder, was completely gone. Blood was flowing freely from both of my missing limbs. I was trying to keep my balance on the limbs I had left, when I heard his voice.

"Yugi…? Yugi! What happened!" Atem exclaimed. The suit of armor started moving. Tears or happiness welled in my eyes. He was back! Atem was back! The suit of armor sat up, and fixed the head on it.

"A-A….Atem…? Is it really you?" I asked, wanting to be absolutely certain. Though my vision was getting blurry from the blood loss, I could still see as the suit of armor immediately put its arms around me gently, and pulled me close, cradling me in its arms.

"Yugi...of course it's me. Who else would it be? What happened? I thought you said that this would work," Atem said.

"It…..It was supposed to. I...I guess I was wrong. I...I'm so sorry, Atem," I said. My vision was getting weaker. It was like a weight was attached to my eyelids. I was so tired. I felt like I couldn't catch my breath. Like I was suffocating.

"Don't apologize. You...You didn't do anything wrong. I know you just wanted to help me, but now's not the time. I have to get you to a hospital," Atem said, standing up. He held me close to his chest, and started running.

"A-Atem I….I think….I think I'm going to take a small nap. Is...Is that okay?" I asked breathlessly. I shut my eyes fully.

"Yugi…! Yugi, no! Stay with me! Stay awake! Please!" Atem begged. But, I couldn't open my eyes again. They were glued shut. I felt myself falling into a deep sleep, as Atem's frantic voice faded away.

Whew! What a start!

Pale Fire is updated next, so be on the lookout for that! It only has two chapters left. It's kinda short for my first MHA story, but, other MHA stories will be longer!

And, of course, when Pale Fire is finished, I will take Running from the Past off hiatus, so you can rejoice!

Until the next chapter!
