The newly christened Darth Vader was marching to the Jedi Temple, along with the rest of the 501st. He had but one mission given to him by his new master. Raze the Order's presence on Coruscant to the ground. He was in this, fully invested, as it would allow him and Padmé to live together forevermore as soon as the traitorous Jedi were gone. 'After all', he spoke in his deranged mind, 'if not for the existence of the Jedi, than there would have been no code forcing us to keep our relationship secret. We could have remained safe and happy on Naboo, with my mother'. Indeed, as his mind rambled on further, he reached an epiphany. 'Were it not for the Jedi, than I would have been able to stay by my mother and defend her with my powers with the force, the same powers that I will use to show Padmé the truth about the Jedi, and free her of their lies. First though, I must give retribution to the Jedi for killing my Mother'.
By this point, the rage surrounding him had become a visceral image of swirling anger and crushing hate. It was crackling in the air around him as his malice grew wave by wave, as he pictured doing unspeakable things to the corpses of the fallen Jedi, to pay back the damage done by the Tusken Raiders.
As the mavolence continued to drive up, Anakin could feel his power increasing tenfold, and he grasped out to the minds on the clones, and instilled his hatred into them, empowering his and their senses to unknown heights. He himself could now feel every little change in the force. He felt like the force had finally come to submit itself before him in recognition of the glorious bonding of himself and Padmé.
The group by this point had reached the steps of the the Temple, and so Anakin drew his lightsaber in preparation for the ensuing justice. This was abruptly disturbed though, by a massive shift in the force. Before his eyes, in front of the doors of the temple, a mask appeared, hovering, and began to coalesce smoke around it. The mist began to take form in a humanoid shape, elongating and shifting, until it had formed a figure. The figure wore nothing but simple, roughhewn robes that had thin, silvery, lines interspaced at random across the cloak. Even more interesting was the the fact that light seemed to dance and sink into the lines in a mesmerising dance. The mask at this point was concealed by the night-black hood, but what was clearly visible was the two extremely distinctive lightsabers the figure was carrying. In one hand it had a double sided lightsaber that had one end so red it looked like it had been bathed in the blood of a thousand bodies, and the other a green so vibrant, it gave of the impression that it had grown out of the grasses of Naboo. In his backhand he wielded a Saber that was only noticeable because of the aura of nihilism that warped the space around it.
In the presence of this new arrival, Anakin sent out a probe in the force to see how powerful his new adversary was. What he saw shocked him. The power this person exhibited was barely above that of a death-stick addled adolescent. He sent out a mocking boom into the night "If you let me through, I might deign to lower myself to putting you out of your pathetic existence, rather than stripping what meagre power you have and setting you to lick my boots for eternity and more". This speech was left with only the wind as its companion. The being in front of him did not acknowledge that he had said anything at all, only continued to look at him impassively through the mask.
Seeing this Vader immediately flew into a rage, screaming that scum like him should be glad that the Chosen One had deigned to use his powers on such a worthless being. Until he fell on his backside. The reason for this being present in front of the figure, his green ended blade held up in front of him. Vader then sensed a warping in the force around the figure, the result of which was a wide arc that upon contact with the 501st, turned them all to dust on the wind.
Vader then leaped up and attempted to slice of the being's head, while it was surely temporarily exhausted having just used up what was surely a colossal amount of power. This was quickly proven to be wrong, however as the being merely flicked his Saberstaff up and spun his lightsaber away. Now defenceless and without any sort of backup, Anakin did the only he could do. He turned tail and ran. He barely got a few meters away, before he was yanked into the air by the force. He was forced to spin around until facing the figure. The figure merely examined him for a few seconds before nodding his head in want appeared to be seemingly approval. Anakin felt a deep hatred rise up against the worm in front of him that dared to stand before his power and righteous justice, but before he could utter so much as a squeak of protest or insult, he was dismissed off the edge of the platform that the temple resided upon, down into the depths of the city.
The figure gave a satisfied smirk behind the mask as he felt a powerful force presence react to the crippling of his newest apprentice by rushing down in a medical shuttle to retrieve the boy's body. After hundreds of years he could do it again. The hunt had begun. With those fortuitous words echoing in the force, he let his body be reclaimed and so, at the entrance of the temple, the figure dissolved into smoke and drifted away, leaving only his mask behind, sunken into a smooth depression on the steps.
A/N Reviews are appreciated, no flames. etc. If anyone complains about there being no Gate Master, just assume that he was of in another place. If anyone complain's about Vader's mental state, just assume he was more psychotic than shown.
