Vanity of the Heart
That Scarlett O'Hara was vain, was a fact. Everyone knew it, despite her ability to blind people, especially men, with her radiating beauty and sparkling character that was so different from that of most other girls. Most other girls were sweet, shy, and submissive, just like they had been taught by mothers possessing equal characteristics. Scarlett was different. Of course, when expected to, she could be just as sweet, shy and submissive, but when she was 'not' expected to, she did not fear to disagree with someone at all; and her true colours would show. Colours of vanity, because not only was Scarlett able to enchant almost every young man around, she was also very much aware of it. She'd always been vain, and knew she possessed all the qualities men desired, and more: Scarlett's vanity came from the heart. She was born with it, but perhaps her desirable qualities had increased this particular characteristic. Altogether, at the first sight, to men she looked like the perfect woman, but there was more than met the eye…
