In His Arms
Vala shifted in bed, feeling the arm around her waist tighten its hold and couldn't help the smile that lit her face at the protective gesture. Never in her life had she dreamt of finding a man so protective and fierce, yet gentle and caring. He accepted her for who she was and never tried to change her. For her, that was the greatest gift he could possibly bestow. She loved this man with a fierceness that she hadn't thought herself capable of. He was everything she'd ever wanted but never allowed herself to hope for.
Her path hadn't been an easy one. She'd suffered a lot of pain and she'd been the cause of it in others. With his help, she'd been able to overcome her past and move onto the future. They'd been together for nearly a decade now and she couldn't imagine that future without him.
She shifted on the bed again and felt him stir.
"Is there something bothering you, dear one?"
"No, Teal'c." she told him with a smile as she snuggled deeper into his embrace. "Everything is perfect."
After a moment's contemplation, he kissed her temple and drifted off to sleep once more. And, Vala thought drowsily, as long as she was in his arms, everything would be just fine. She had no doubt of that.
