He complained about the Tux, but Curtis convinced him Sara would love it. He hated the florist, but Sara so loved flowers. The rehearsal dinner drove him to distraction. Too many conversations he couldn't follow, too much background noise that interferred with his hearing. The only thing that made any of it bearable was Sara. She was radiant and he loved her so. She sailed through it all, smiling and calm.

----------------------------

Sara's voice cut through his dream, "C'mon Griss, it's time to get up."

*She's being unbelievably cheerful - it's 9 a.m.!* Grissom pulled the covers from over his head and looked bleary-eyed at an extremely happy Sara. "We have time. We're not due at the church until 2. Come back to bed." He reached out for her, but she bounded up from the bed and headed for the shower.

"I need time to get ready!" She smiled slyly, "The shower is big enough for two, you know...." Grissom raised an eyebrow and smirked. But, in the end, he joined her.

----------------------------

Warrick and Nick arrived with time to spare. "Come on Gris, it's not like you're going to your execution. Smile, relax, enjoy! - I know I will" Nick drawled. He always enjoyed the party, especially now that he had Michelle to drive him home.

"The girls will be here shortly to help Sara. Let's get out while we can." Warrick led the way to the front door. " Gris, where's Curtis?"

Grissom thought for a moment, "He'll meet us at the church with Greg."

They passed out the door and met Catherine coming up the steps. "Oh Gil, you look wonderful! This is such a wonderful day!" She caught him in a hug and was pleasantly surprised when he hugged her back.

"I'll see you at the church." His voice was low and full of emotion.

The men continued down the stairs to Warrick's car. "Nick will drive your car to the church, Griss. That way it will be there when you and Sara are ready to leave."

----------------------

Sara looked radiant! Her gown perfectly highlighted her long, graceful neck. Her hair, swept up was accented with one live flower, and orchid. She glowed. "I can't believe this day is finally here!" she exclaimed to no one in particular. Catherine and Michelle merely nodded and smiled. "I thought he would never propose! But, I guess all things do come to those who wait." Sara sighed and smiled again. "Today will be perfect!"

Heidi shared a smile with Catherine as she picked up Sara's flowers. "It's time we left for the church."

---------------------

As the limo pulled up to the church, Gil swallowed hard, "Water fountain - I'm getting a drink." From the side door, he watched them alight from the car. *God, she is so beautiful!* How many weddings had he been to? He couldn't remember. Friend of the bride, friend of the groom, usher, best man, today was different from all the others.

---------------------

Everything was ready.

It was time.

Curtis took her arm and they started up the aisle. They reached the altar. Curtis kissed her cheek, and Sara stepped to the left, waiting. She smiled as Gil approached, the smile reserved just for him.

When he reached where she stood waiting, he turned, gave his only daughter, Kelsey's hand to the man of her dreams, and took his place next to Sara.

When the minister asked, "Who giveth this woman in marriage?" Gil put his arm around Sara and answered, "Her mother and I do."
