Alright, this is, like, less than a one-shot, but whatever. This is just when Syaoran and Sakura are in that glass tube thing. I haven't actually finished the series yet (waiting on the library *sigh*) So I'm sorry if there are any problems, although there shouldn't be. This seemed a lot longer on paper. Anyway, review once you've read, please :)
He splayed his hand over the thick, cold sheet of glass separating him from the love of his life. Her tears and the fright in her eyes caused his heart to ache, and he knew that he would do anything to erase her fears. To make her safe again, he would give his life. As long as he could protect her, he would, but in this cylinder of glass, there was nothing he could do.
She laid her hand against the glass, opposite of his, and he grit his teeth, longing to touch her instead of the unwelcoming hardness of glass. He hadn't watched over her for so long for her to die or be injured.
He felt hot tears on his face and saw their matches streaming down her cheeks. He touched his forehead to the glass, his mind almost changing the chill to her warmth. He felt as though he could touch her, he wanted it so badly. He'd never wanted anything so much in his life. She was his only light, here in this physical darkness, and in the dark recesses of his heart. She was so pure and beautiful. He didn't deserve her, no one did, but he would never let her go, even if that was selfish of him.
But now he didn't have a choice. He didn't know what was going to happen and the uncertainty was killing him. But if she was with him, near him, he could dare hope that they would be alright. That they would survive.
He didn't know what would happen, but he knew one thing. She was his constant and his light that would never go out.
