The Past Becomes the Present

A/N: This is my first fan fiction whatsoever and that quote, I made up myself at a writing competition called 'Power of the Pen'. This is based off of a dream I had, so it may jump from one thing to another. Suggestions are welcome. Oh I forgot one little detail; the OC in this is me, is it so wrong that I was the main character in my dream.

It was a dull dreary day in the Valley of Peace, even at the sacred monastery the Jade Palace. "Man, I'm so bored!" said Mantis "Is there nothing else to do!" he continued ranting. When all of a sudden 'knock, knock'. "We don't want any!" yelled an exasperated Mantis. "I'll get it!" Called Po and so he ran over and opened the door to a young female tiger cub. "Err—Hello" said Po "And who are you?"

"Who is it Po?" asked Tigress walking in from the other room. "I dunno, I was just asking her for her name" he replied, "So, what is your name?" A simple 'humph' was her reply, and then a few seconds later she spoke "I want to speak with Grandmaster Shifu, and then I will give my information" said the cub. Po looked to Tigress who nodded and said "I'll watch her, you go get Master Shifu."

So Po left leaving the two tigers alone, "Come inside, you'll catch a cold standing in the rain like that." said Tigress in a caring tone. "I'll manage, I've been through worse." was the cub's blunt reply. "What is your name, you can tell me." Tigress said trying get somewhere with the conversation. "Fine, my name is Jiai, happy." Jiai said trying to contain her frustration "Now, where is Grandmaster Shifu?"

"Tigress, Shifu is coming get ready to introduce her so-""Excuse me, Dragon Warrior, but I think I can introduce myself." said Jiai. "Po, why did you drag me through the rain?" said the agitated voice of Shifu. "To meet me." Said Jiai "I have traveled from the villages of the east myself to get approval to train as a student here at the Jade Palace" she said bowing. "What makes you think I would take you as a student?" said Shifu sternly. "Simple," said Jiai "so I can avenge my people, my village was attacked by a clan of bandits. The bandits wiped everyone out, luckily I escaped." Shifu's brow creased in thought "If you can prove yourself, you may stay here at the Jade Palace." "Thank you, Master." Jiai said bowing once more.

"Oh, I will not be your master" said Shifu "Master Tigress will." And with that, he left.

"Well then, come along Jiai let's eat" Said Tigress. "Yes, master" Jiai said. While she walked she looked around in amazement, not missing a single detail. She heard noises coming from a short corridor, so she guessed that was where they were going. When they reached their destination, the entire room went quiet. Viper was the first to find her voice "Why hello, what's your name?" said the snake. "My name is Jiai, and yours?" Jiai said.

"My name is Viper, that's Crane, Monkey, and Mantis" Viper replied. "And do you mind me asking this question, why are you here little one" asked the curious master. "Oh, I'm Master Tigress' new student" Jiai replied. The all eyes turned to the tiger master, Mantis even fainted.

"Well, Jiai after dinner, we will go to the bed chambers your room will be next to mine. Then, you will wake when or before the morning gong sounds. We will eat breakfast, then your training begins." said Tigress. Jiai nodded "Yes, master."

A/N: I thought that was a good place to end. Anyways, read and review guys. Even if I don't get any reviews, I'll keep the story going.
