He knows what they have won't last forever, that one day Jack will leave him, and he has come to terms with that fact. It's just when he see them together, Jack and John, he's jealous; who he is jealous of is as yet uncertain. He sees Jack flirting with this man, wonders if this is the day Jack leaves and his heart breaks that little bit more.
