Test – Paper 2 June 2008 Higher Section B
Q. Choose a famous person whom you admire. Explain why you admire this person.
John Barrowman. What is there not to admire about him? I mean; he can sing, dance AND act, has his own T.V show, and starred in the world wide favourite T.V programme, Doctor Who. The character he plays in Doctor Who is called Captain Jack Harkness, and there is a spin-off of Doctor Who about HIM. Omni-sexual is what Jack Harkness is; this means that he will sleep with Men, Women and Aliens or all three at the same time, whilst saving the world. Pheww! He is a busy chap!
If i didn't know any better I would say either Jack Harkness is hiding from aliens by being John Barrowman or John is just a fabulous actor; I'm inclining towards the latter. Because to be honest John is a Sex God and doesn't he just know it; despite the fact he has been with his partner Scott for about 20 years, he can and will flirt with anyone; whether they want to or not!
Many people admire him and his bottom not just me, in fact recently on the Paul O' Grady show, Dawn French compared his rear end to "A pair of peaches shrink-wrapped in cling-film". Also just in my year group, i know of 25 other fans of John and his "shrink-wrapped peaches". Who knows how many secret-in-hiding Barrowman admirers are out there?
Don't be ashamed, fellow Barrowman lovers, don't hide your love for him in a dank dark cupboard in your soul, free it, wear t-shirts of him, climb to the top of the tallest building you can find, then scream out at the top of your lungs!
"I love John Barrowman and his cling-filmed peaches!!!"
So, yeah I admire/love him and I'm not afraid to scream it out loud.
