Nemesis: Book 1:
Doom
Chapter 1: Rain
The rain was intense.
Never had I seen a day this rainy. I was driving in my car, listening to my favorite song, Rise Of The Tyrant by Arch Enemy. The storm had been raging for about three hours now, not showing any improvement in the intensity. Soon I would have to find some place to take cover for the night.
I'm twenty, I just got my G2 and I can now drive on my own. Maybe that shouldn't have become true... I could barely control the car. I kept driving through the night with increasing worry. Suddenly there was a huge mansion, and it looked abandoned. Maybe I could shelter myself and my dog, Maxie, who is with me now, from the storm.
My name is Stefano Linkin.
I have always had white- not bright blonde- hair. I'm naturally bleached white. I have never seen anyone with the same hair color as me, unless if the dyed it or are albinos. I have luminous green eyes and tanned skin. My Abyssinian wolfhound, Maxie, has pure white fur.
I turned to pull into the driveway, then stopped. I remembered stories I heard about someone taking shelter in a house like that and finding out it was haunted.
Haunted.
I quickly drove passed it, covering my ears with my shoulders just in case I heard an otherworldly moan. Just then, something attacked my car. All I heard was a sound like metal grinding through the hood of the car...
It looked like a body.
I couldn't really see what it was, but instinctively I turned the car around and the creature came of the hood and crashed into the spiky mansion-like fence, then it feel down. But whatever that was, its claws gouged into the hood of the car very deep... it clawed the engine, and destroyed it.
There was an explosion, and my car spun around, then crashed into the fence.
Right beside the creature.
I got out, then struggled to reach where the creature landed so I could examine it, every movement was painful but I got there.
The body was gone.
I looked at the house, it looked Gothic and eerie, but it was all I had. It was this or the forest. I looked at my car hood and seen three long gouges in it, although no human could drag there nails through solid iron. I looked at the gate of the fence around the house, there was a small pathway studded with weeds and ivy.
There were huge stones overgrown with creepers dotting the edges of the pathway. From what I could see of the house I automatically was creeped out by the Gothic style. It had several turrets and towers, like a castle. It looked exactly like a house from a story I heard.
The rain was more torrential then ever, I knew I would have to go in now, or get drenched to the bone. There was a blinding flash of lightning, it was now a thunderstorm. I started to run towards the house. Maxie galloped alongside me.
