Raphtalia had three problems since giving birth. First, the pain. Forcing multiple living beings out of her lower half was not enjoyable, even with her defense nulling some of the pain.
Second, her kids refused to sleep. Night after night, they'd be rowdy and always hungry.
Thirdly, they were raccoons.
Naofumi, her and the doctors were surprised when the squealing bunch of hairy raccoons burst from her womb. Merely eight weeks after her pregnancy test too.
They had two boys and three girls. At the moment, the sisters were watching their brothers fight. Naofumi and Raphtalia watched from their porch.
"You think they'll ever learn to speak?" Raphtalia asked.
"They seem like regular raccoons to me. If thy do learn to speak, well I'm not so sure about their future." Naofumi sighed as the two brothers, Shimada and Kiyagi, went scampering off to the side to fight again.
At that moment, he wondered if his shield would translate the raccoon noises into Japanese.

The chattering faded and instead Naofumi heard loud yelling from the brothers.
"Mommy is my mate!"
"No, she's mine!"
Naofumi stumbled back, physically staggered by this revelation.
The raccoon sisters were discussing their next meal.
Naofumi noticed just barely a notification in his vision.
