"I can't believe you Mulder!"
Mulder sat at his desk and feigned innocence
"I don't know what you mean Scully, oh! Tut tut! 2 minutes late!"
Scully death-glared her partner. Oh dear, thought Mulder. The death glare, I'm in trouble now!
"You know DAMN well what I mean Agent Mulder! You ran a red light, just to beat me to work! You are an idiot!"
He got up from behind his desk and crossed the basement.
"I'm sorry Scully; I just wanted to be here before you that's all! You're always here first and I'm always lateā¦"
He stood behind her as she pulled off her coat and flung it down on the chair in front of her. She turned round, mouth open to have another go at him and bumped into him, kissing him squarely on the mouth.
Automatic reflexes kicked in as he wrapped his hands around her waist and her hands went to his neck.
Skinner was aware of the noise that his agents were making. He was also aware of the silence that had followed. He hadn't heard the gunshot, but maybe Scully had a silencer. Not that he would have minded if she shot Mulder, hell! He'd thought of that a couple of times, but Mulder really was good at what he did. So he decided to investigate.
Cracking the door open an inch, he peered in and saw the pair locked in each others embrace. He smiled to himself and left the two agents alone.
Later, he would brush past the two of them and comment on how they had finally gotten off of each other.
