DTI: The Sherlock Holmes Incident

Chapter 1

Department of Temporal Investigations circa 2498

Ambassador Spock was walking up to the podium of the conference room. The Vulcan was wearing his Ambassadorial robe. As he approached, he was getting more transparent until he literally disappeared.

"I didn`t know Vulcans could do that", said Teresa Garcia, a transplant from the past.

"They can`t", Captain Mitsuko Sulu said. Mitsuko was the descendant of Hikaru Sulu, the illustrious helmsman of the Enterprise (NCC-1701). A nice looking woman with blonde hair. At 6'1", she was the tallest woman in Starfleet. She earned her captaincy of the timeship Okinawa NCV-13958.

Just then, an emergency alarm sounded someone was messing around with time… or, in this case, dimensions...

London, England circa 1885

Solkar was observing the Victorian era's greatest detective, Sherlock Holmes, working at his desk through the view screen of the Vulcan survey ship T`PLANA-HATH.

James Moriarty skulked in behind Mr. Holmes, Raised a knife, and plunged it into his back. As green blood seeped out of Sherlock`s back. Solkar knew the detective was Vulcan.

"Fascinating' Solkar said. On a 'hunch', he called up information on Sepik, an acquaintance of Solkar`s that vanished during the Age of Awakening.

He and Sepik Kolinahr training together. Kolinahr is the Vulcan ritual intended to purge all emotion in pursuit of pure logic. To make a long story short, Solkar attained Kolinahr, Sepik didn`t.

Solkar noted that Moriarty didn`t give off the correct energy signature. "Curious.

Moriarty, then, picked up the dead weight that was the great detective, pushed a button on his coat, and vanished.
