Hermione, I…love you." He spat out.

'He said it, he finally said it.' Hermione thought.

Hermione's face froze like a statue. Tears rushed to her eyes.

"Did you hear me? I love you." He said again. Looking at her this time.

"I heard you, it just that," Hermione began.

"Don't you feel the same?" He asked.

"Yes!...No, Well, I did, but you see," Hermione started, again.

"Did? I thought you felt the same way about me." He said confused.

"Listen, I've been waiting practically since we've met to hear you say that, and now I'm so happy you've finally said it but-" Hermione tried for the third time.

"Then what's the problem?"

"RON! Will you listen?" Hermione shouted.

She took in a deep breath, as she wiped her tears away.

"I want to say it back, I really do, but it's too late. I'm moving. Well, actually my b-boyfriend and I are moving." Hermione finished.

"Boyfriend? Who? Since when?" Ron asked.

"Um, it's no one, really. Forget it. I'm glad you've told me how you really feel, but I figured it would be a long time before you'd say anything, so I moved on from you. I'm sorry, really sorry." Hermione whispered as she hugged him one last time.

"It's not Harry is it?" Ron asked.

"Goodness, no!" Hermione shrieked.

"Goodbye, Ron." Hermione said.

"Hermione. Who is it? Please, just so I know." Ron begged.

"It's…Victor. Victor Krum. I'm sorry Ron." Hermione turned the doorknob slowly.

"Oh, ok." Ron said. That was all he could say.

Tears filled his eyes. Hermione saw a tear fall, and she knew she had just broken a heart, not just a heart. Her best friend's heart.

"Ron, you wa-" Hermione began.

"I know, you're right. It's my fault. Just…go. Victor will be wondering where you are." Ron sneered.

"Ron, please understand, that-"

"I already understand, the only thing that there isn't to understand is why not me?!" Ron shouted.

"Ron, please don't shout. You know why. You're making too big of a deal out of it. Please just forget me."

"I can't forget you. I love you."

"I'm leaving. Goodbye."

Ron grabbed Hermione's hand and pulled her toward him.
"Don't ever leave."

He pressed his lips to hers. Hermione, bewildered by what was happening couldn't move. As moments past, Ron finally broke the kiss.

"Goodbye, Ron." That's all Hermione had to say, then she left.
