You sit at her side as the others come to say goodbye. They don't even like her yet they come to bid her farewell. Kutner just stares not able to form words but you can see the remorse in his eyes, he turns to leave and Taub walks in. He kisses Amber but she shows no strong emotion. You know that she didn't like these people either. Foreman rubs Amber's leg but stares at you and he seems to realise that you want time with her alone. As Hadley walks in and hugs Amber, you look at her face. She is holding back tears, she wants to never leave, she wants to see, feel and annoy these people again. You note that House didn't come to visit Amber and an unexplained wave of rage comes over you. Realising that he's in a coma you un tense but the rage is still there. He did this to her. The selfish bastard killed Amber.
Everyone's
left and you slowly rise from your chair and lay down next to her.
It's uncomfortable but nothing is said. You put your arm around her
and she manages to do the same. After moments of silence she turns to
speak. He voice is weak but you can just make out what she says.
"I'm tired," are the words formed. Amber looks so small and
breakable. You're careful of where you place your hands.
You nod
in return. You're about to say something but think better of it.
"I think it's time to go, sweetie".
The last word
drifts off half way as she can't manage the energy to finish it. A
sudden rush of love towards her practically flows out your ears. She
can't go, she won't go.
"Just a little longer," you
say.
Those words ring through your ears. It's so selfish of you
but you don't care.
'We're always gonna want just a little
longer."
The words come out of her mouth and you know it's
true. She starts to cry when you tell her you don't think you will
be about to live without her. She shows no angry or upset emotions
towards anything and you get annoyed. You question why it's okay
with her and she says she doesn't want to die unhappy.
You kiss
her. It's half hearted on both your parts. She can't summon the
energy and you don't want to hurt her. It lasted a while but it
didn't even feel like seconds. You just experienced your first last
kiss.
She is too tired to say anything so you decide to turn her
off bypass. You do it quick so you can't stop half way. It takes
only seconds for her to die. Her last breath rattled the air. You
touch her face and start to cry. She is so peaceful you swear she is
only asleep. You don't ever want to move so you fall asleep next to
her, maybe you won't wake up.
