A/N: ONE SHOT

"'Mione, come back!" Ron yelled as he ran through the corridor.

"No! I hate you!" she cried back through her tears," I hate you! I hate you! I hate you! Just go away!" She raced toward the girls lavatory, hoping to be able to escape. She had just reached the door when somebody grabbed her arm.

"Mione, listen to me! This isn't what you think it is!" He tried to hold on but she wrenched free of his grasp and ran into the bathroom. He could hear her muffled sobs through the door, and could almost imagine her tearstained face. He truly had screwed up this time. With one last look toward the bathroom he slowly walked back to Gryffindor Tower and up to bed.

Hermione sat on a toilet, head in her hands, crying. She sat there for a long time, thinking about everything that had happened. There were moments when she thought she could be okay, and had stopped nearly all the tears, but then remember what he had done and collapsed again. It was nearly midnight when she finally swallowed her tears and trekked up to bed, trying to leave her sorrows behind her. How could he have done this to me? I thought everything was okay. What did I do wrong? Even as she walked the tears began to form again and she found herself wandering throughout the school with no clue as to where she was going. Staring down at her feet all the way, she found herself in the astronomy tower, staring up at the stars. As she turned to leave, she bumped into someone. Horrified it might be a teacher, she wiped her eyes and turned to look up, swallowing her tears. It was Harry. She was surprised and ashamed all at once. Surprised he was here, of all places, tonight, and ashamed that he would see her in such a state. She knew it was stupid to be ashamed of crying in front of him. After all, he was her best friend. Nonetheless she tried to look away, but a hand caught her shoulder. Harry lifted her chin. She looked into his comforting green eyes and he looked into her tearstained brown eyes. She broke down and began to cry again as he held her. Without a word, they turned to and looked up to the heavens, caught in a comforting embrace.
