Nargles and Wrackspurts
By Delayed Poet
Dear Neville,
Hello! I hope you have been well, and that the Nargles didn't jump into your hair after we stumbled into the mistletoe. They've been known to enjoy nesting in human hair when given opportunity.
I enjoyed attending the Annual Hogwarts Christmas Ball with you very much. I was wondering if you might enjoy going to Latvia with me. I've heard rumor of some sightings of Crumple-Horned Snorkacks there. Usually my father would go with me, but he's recovering from a terrible Wrackspurt attack and won't be able to join me for several months yet.
Hoping to see you again soon!
Yours Truly,
Luna
Dearest Luna,
I've used the diagnostic spell you taught me and am happy to report that I am free of any Nargle infestations.
Thank you again for coming to the Ball with me. I'm very sorry for stubbing your toes while we were dancing. Gran says that I should take lessons, because no witch wants to marry a wizard who can't dance. What do you think?
I would love to go to Latvia with you, but, unfortunately, Professor Sprout has decided to turn over First through Third Years to me, so I'll be busy teaching. Perhaps I can go with you during the summer holiday? Do take lots of pictures, though, so you can show me when you return.
I'm terribly sorry to hear about your father. I hope he makes a quick and full recovery.
Looking forward to when we'll meet again!
Always yours,
Neville
Dearest Neville,
I think dancing lessons would be quite fun! Perhaps we can take them together when I return to England? Though I don't know why your Gran would say such a thing. I would never not marry a wizard just because he couldn't dance!
I will admit I am very disappointed you can't go with me to Latvia, but I am also very excited that you've been given classes to teach. I'm sure you'll do splendid!
Father is healing nicely and wishes to thank you for the well-wishes.
Missing you,
Luna
Lovely Luna,
I think dancing lessons would be more than fun if I were able to take them with you. We will have to make plans when you return to England. So, you would marry me, then?
I'll miss you while you're in Latvia, but we'll have a grand adventure during the summer holiday, I promise. Thank you for your confidence in my abilities. I taught my first class today and it went much better than I anticipated! I even awarded points to Ravenclaw.
Wishing you were here,
Neville
Dear Neville,
I'm sorry it's taken me so long to write you. Father had a little lapse, but he seems to be doing much better now. The effect of the Wrackspurt has almost completely worn off, but the Healer says it might be a couple more months until he's well enough to travel.
I'll miss you terribly while I'm in Latvia. I'd rather not have any post while I'm there. The owls frighten the Snorkacks, and I fear I'll receive an owl at a most inopportune moment. I promise to send you owls when it's safe to do so.
We will have a lovely adventure during the summer holiday. I'm already eager for it to be here! I'm very happy to hear that your first class went well! Though, I did tell you that it would.
Wishing it were the summer holidays already,
Luna
My dearest Luna,
This will be my last letter to you until you tell me it is safe to write you again. I do hope you find the Snorkacks.
You're right; you did tell me it would be fine. I should listen to you more often, shouldn't I?
Please write often so that I know you are safe.
I love you
Neville
