Entry for the „Unusual Ships Challenge" - Cho/Dudley
Actually I wanted to do a small story about this pairing for some time as I find them interesting... :)
Just a short drabble, I hope you like it!
„There come the freaks again," Dudley Dursley heard his father mutter to his mother as they watched small groups of chattering children appear from the barrier between the platforms 9 and 10 of Kings Cross Station. „Look at them... nutters..."
Dudley gulped as his gaze wandered over the people he knew were witches and wizards just like Harry, but even though he heard his father ranting about them being unnormal, he could hardly see why they were supposed to be freaks.
When he mustered them, he found that they looked just like him, wearing normal clothes, talking to each other, walking around casually... Actually, they seemed pretty normal to him...
Except...
His eye caught sight of a girl emerging from the stone barrier and he could hardly prevent his jaw from dropping.
Never before had he seen a girl like this.
Her hair was flowing over her back in long, black and silky waves and framed her beautiful, fairy-like face, but what really awed him were her brown, almond shaped eyes as they met his as she walked by.
She had an air around her that made him practically feel that she was something special, but he could not entirely understand what it was, it was not magic for sure, but something else... something stronger...
It was as if elictricity ran through his whole body, spreading from his stomach through every single nerve and this feeling intensified even more as she smiled at him and her fingers came up to play with a strand of her hair before she disappeared out of his sight.
Dudley did not move, stood frozen on his spot, his mind racing – should he turn, look after her, maybe even say something to get her attention, he so desperately wanted to hear her laughing about something he had said, he wanted...
„Come on, Duddy, we have to go back to the car."
The voice of his mother interrupted his train of thoughts and Dudley felt his euphoria disappear immediately. He followed his parents and Harry, his eyes searching for the girl, but she was nowhere to be seen and Dudley could not help but feel incredibly disappointed.
But maybe, maybe he could see her again next year... and suddenly he looked forward to the day his parents hated.
