Dean and Sam Winchester sat in silence, the only sounds were the soft beat playing on the radio and the whirr of the Impala. They were on their way to check out a place in Michigan known throughout other hunters as a "demon clubhouse". The road road was empty and curiously peaceful. Sam was studying a map, as usual, and Dean had his typical I-swear-to-god-I-will-slit-your-throat-if-this-isn't-legit-Sammy face on. It seemed all average and Winchester-like, until Sam heard a familiar tune. He turned up the radio and leaned back in his seat. 'Carry On Wayward Son' slid through the small speakers. Sam grinned in remembrance although he couldn't quite put his finger to where he had heard it from. Before he could contemplate the tune anymore, Dean slammed the radio and turned into another station. Sam sat up and looked at Dean. "Dude what the hell?" Dean just glared at the road in front of him. Sam put his hand out to turn the station back but Dean grabbed his hand. "Remember what I said?" It was rhetorical but Sam nodded and pulled his hand back. 'Driver picks the music, Shotgun shuts his cakehole.' Sam mocked in his head. Dean sideways glanced at Sam but soon regretted it. Even he couldn't deny those puppy eyes sometimes. "I just hate the song, okay?" Dean said shortly. Sam shrugged and leaned his head on the window. 'What the hell is he so pissy about?' Dean thought to himself. In the back of his mind Dean knew what was wrong, but he had buried those memories a long time ago and he was in no mood to dig them up now. "So, what about this freaky clubhouse thing?" Dean asked almost awkwardly, immediately masking his true emotions with sarcasm and sass. Sam got the hint and opened his bag to find their dad's journal, and that's when the eighteen-wheeler hit the car head on. Sam was flung forward and got the most of the blow and Dean was knocked unconscious. The driver was fearful of getting arrested again and pulled away quickly. Luckily for him, his truck went away nearly unscathed. The same could not be said about the two boys and their car.
An hour later, a young couple nearly crashed into the Impala. When they went to investigate, the young woman screamed and her boyfriend called the police. The boys had both lost a lot of blood when the ambulance showed up, but they were still breathing. Three hours later, Dean and Sam had their own beds in the hospital.
