I decided to try something new and write from a characters point of view.
I sat down, waiting for sun to set so the fireworks could start. The view from my special place is great, letting me see where the fireworks would go and the haunted factory where the boy sitting next to me and I first met. Back then, I had only thought of the mission at hand. When he jumped into my life, everything changed. We were friends, partners, warrior comrades, enemies of the Alchemist Army, and eventually became one all in a short time. Now, I couldn't live without him.
"Tokiko?"
"What is it, Kazuki?" I glanced at him.
"I was just curious about something." Kazuki didn't look at me, just kept staring out towards the factory. "I mean, we tell each other everything, right?"
I nodded. "Of course."
"Well, if I asked about an event, you'd tell me, right?" He looked at me from the corner of his eye. I nodded, urging him to ask. "So, what really happened when you hung out with my sister and her friends? You know, after you came to the dorm and Bravo started to train me."
I gulped. Now that wasn't a question I was expecting. "Oh, that… Do you honestly want to know?"
It was Kazuki's turn to nod. "Yeah, before you just said that you four hung out. But knowing my sister, you had to have done something odd or embarrassing."
"You know your sister too well." I smiled. I might as well tell him. "She had us play Truth-or-Dare. But every time I said truth, she asked how you and I met, and… " I stopped, too mortified to say more. Not that Kazuki would let it go.
"And what?"
"And she asked how far we had gone." It was Kazuki's turn to be bright red.
"Oh." He turned away, his shoulder moving up and down. He was laughing.
"Hey, it was not funny when she asked!" I glared at him. "If you're going to be rude, then I won't tell you what I told her." That shut him up quick.
"Tell me, tell me!" He eyes shown with interest.
"I told her that unless she caught us in the act, I would admit nothing."
Understanding dawned on Kazuki. "So that's why she's always watching us. I was wondering why she always seems to show up at the worst possible times."
"I guess that would make it my fault that we can't ever get any privacy." We turned away from one another when we heard the start of the fireworks. After a few minutes of watching in silence, I spoke again. "Can I ask you a question now?" Kazuki nodded. "Do you still look at those nude magazines?" In Kazuki's stunned silence I continued to speak. "I now that Hideyuki used to bring new ones to you, so I was curious if he still does. Not that it would matter, if he still does or not." I added quickly. Kazuki started to laugh.
"No, you don't have to worry about those anymore. I stopped after I met you. As for Hideyuki, he is now on the straight and narrow road of not being a pervert." Kazuki grinned. "He actually cried when we burned all of his magazines."
"Why did you stop?" The question slipped out before I could help it.
"At first, I was just too busy to look at them anymore. But now, I have you." Kazuki turned to look at me. "Why would I look at pictures when I have the perfect warrior girl right next to me?" He leaned over and gave me a gentle kiss.
The real fireworks may have ended a while ago, but our own fireworks began.
