The mirror, vast and beautiful in all its glory, stood still as it always had as a figure watched what was in front of him.
This grand mirror was the only way that the master, one named Fei Wong Reed, could see where the pawns in his metaphorical chess game were and how he would change their fate. Xing Huo, made by his own hand, would stand by his side and watch along with him, growing more and more curious of the travelers, as time went by.
There was one in particular that Xing Huo was curious about, the one named Fai D. Fluorite, a magician who had been subjected to so much, and still had the ability to smile like nothing ever happened. As the days continued to linger, Xing Huo found herself growing restless by the minute, eagerly waiting for a time when she and her master would watch the traveling group as they went on – it was as if she herself had been cast into a spell of some sort, a fixed state in which all she could think about was the magician.
Fei Wong Reed, her one and only master, knew this. He sensed it in her. She didn't have to say anything. She didn't even have to do anything. He was aware of her thoughts, even though not a flicker of suppressed excitement had crossed Xing Huo's eyes at the mention of the group.
He knew this. One day, he decided to use it to his advantage.
"I want you to seek the magician, to place him in a world, a barrier that reflects what his heart contains, and give yourself to him."
Normally Xing Huo never thought twice about the tasks that her master gave her. Normally she would do anything for him at the drop of a hat. But this time…his intentions were unclear…
Her breath had been caught in her throat.
"I-I-I'm sorry, sir?"
"You heard me." He repeated to her, in identical inflection, "I want you to seek the magician, to place him in a world, a barrier that reflects what his heart contains, and give yourself to him."
His intentions…what were they exactly – at times, it was hard to tell, yet not.
This time, his intentions, her master's intentions, were as murky as could be.
With resignation, and a hidden flare of lust, she bowed her head.
"As you wish - Master."
She accepted her command, just as she always did, in the same manner, in the same level and calm tone of voice that she always carried, that she always brought forth.
This time though, she had something to look forward to.
As quickly as she would, she conjured up what the magician's inner heart would be painted of in a dream, a kekkai, something created of reality as well as a reverie. It was the mage's own torment and what the darkness in his heart held that brought him to her, what she came across when she spoke to him so seductively, a small smile fluted on her face.
Then, with no eye to anywhere else, she knew that her master watched them as she made the magician fall upon his knees when she told him of something close to him and when she gave him the beautiful agony that he was denied for so long, giving a false sense of security, a security that no one else had given to him. No one, but her, one would never feel that she was to be haunted by the sin for as long as her master let her live.
In due time, the master watched as his assistant claimed the magician as her own.
She had truly given herself to him. Just as he had asked.
