Also, Diamond is nicknamed Santa Fe, because, I don no, Santa Fe reprise sounds like he's talking about someone. Cowboy, Santa Fe. get it! Spiffin, now explain it to me! Please R&R! Enjoy!

Jack Kelly sat looking out the front window of the Duane St. Newsboy's Lodging House.
'Di, 'He thought to himself, 'I wish you'se was heah.' His mind became preoccupied with Diamond, The Gem of Brooklyn, sister to the infamous Spot Conlon. Cowboy's own little Santa Fe. He sighed. Spot just had to be selfish and keep Diamond from him on Christmas Eve. He had begged her to come home to Brooklyn for just one night.
"Checkmate." Murmured Specs to Dutchy, who just groaned in defeat.
"Man, you'se cheetin, somehows!" He muttered.
"Naw, he's just smartah den youse is Dutchy!" laughed Racetrack Higgins from the corner. His goil, Dice Russo, laughed and kissed Race's neck.

Jakey came up to Jack. They had called him Jake, being his name was Jacob, but when the older Jake was around, it was Jakey or Little Jake.
"Jack?" he asked softly.
"Yeah?"
"When's Diamond comin home?" Jack smiled at the little seven year old.
"Soon."
"'Fore Santa gets 'ere?" he asked hopefully.
"Naw Jake," Cowboy replied sadly, "She's in Brooklyn fer da night."
"Oh." The child sighed, defeated.
Jack resumed looking out the window.
"Santa Fe, my old friend, I can't spend me whole life hidin, you're de only light dat's guiding me taday."

Suddenly, a soft sound was heard from outside.
"Silent night," the sweet, high, female soprano sang. Little Pips looked up from her doll.
"Flare?"
"Holy night," a boy's voice joined in.
"All is calm, all is bright." Pips jumped up.
"Blaze! It's dem Jack, it's Flare 'an Blaze!" She cried, running to greet her brother and sister, who lived in Brooklyn.
'What's dey doin heah?' Jack wondered, 'Flare is Spot's goil, why's she heah? He nevah let's go 'a her.' Another boy joined, Spot!
"Round you virgin, mother and child, holy infant so tender and mild." A girl completed the quartet,
"Sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace."
The last voice was all too familiar to Jack. He gasped and pulled open the door.
"Diamond!" He cried. The girl was in his arms in an instant.
"Jack! Oh Cowboy!" She pushed her blonde, brown hair out of her face. He cold blue eyes shone.
"I begged Spot ta let me come, so 'e said if 'im and Flare came along, 'ed let me go! So Blaze came wit Flare!"
Jack looked at Spot with his goil on his arm. Her jet black hair shone under the lights. Her and her twin Blaze had matching green eyes that laughed as they talked to a very hyper Pips.
"Calm down Pipsqueak!" laughed Blaze "We's gonna be 'ere all night!"
"But I'se missed youse!" She squeaked.
"We'se missed you'se too. But chill." giggled Flare as she kissed Spot's cheek. Pips grinned.
"Oh Jakey!" she called as she chased him.
"No! Ew! Race! Diamond! Jack! Klopper! HELP!" he cried as she tried to kiss him. They raced all over the room.
Jack smiled and sat down. The night had turned out after all.
'Tanks Spot.' He thought to himself. Diamond kissed him.
"Merry Christmas Cowboy."
"Merry Christmas Santa Fe."
