Squidward woke up one morning and went to get the paper. He returned and sipped his morning coffee as he read the paper.
"Ahh... there's nothing like a of relaxation day off of work," he sighed. His watch suddenly beeped. "ooh, time for my daily clarinet practice!"
He rushed upstairs and began his clarinet practice, only to be interrupted by SpongeBob's loud voice calling out to him. Squidward sighed and opened up his window.
"What could it possibly be this time, SpongeBob?" he said in frustration.
"I'm headed to Sandy's for some tea. Wanna join me?" SpongeBob asked.
"This is my day-off, Squarepants, and I'm not going to let you ruin-it!"
"Come on, Squiddy! It'll be fun. Don't you have any sense of excitement?"
"Don't you have any common sense? Now leave me alone."
"I thought you wanted to relax? Won't it be better if you had some friends to relax with?"
"I'm not your-" Squidward began, before realizing his neighbor was right, and sighed. "fine."
When the two arrived at Sandy's house, she welcomed them.
"Why, Howdy, SpongeBob. Squidward," Sandy greeted in her western accent. "come sit down and I'll serve ya'll up some tea."
The two sat down at her picnic table while Sandy walked into her treehouse. SpongeBob immediately turned to Squidward.
"So... are you excited to spend time with us?" SpongeBob asked.
"Uh... actually more than excited, SpongeBob," Squidward said in a somewhat relaxed and dazed tone.
"Great to hear it, buddy!" SpongeBob smiled, and looked on.
Squidward was feeling very odd, though. He'd never notice how amazing Sandy looked before. Now he suddenly loved everything about her. Her looks. The flower on her head. Her personality. Her love for science. But most importantly, though he began to realize it slowly, he loved... her.
Squidward couldn't believe the thoughts racing through his mind right now. But they were all very true. And what could he do about it? Only one thing was clear to him... he was in love with Sandy Cheeks.
