First kiss
Beca was curled in the mountain of blankets and cushions that were her bed as I quietly walked in. Small murmurs were to be heard as she snuggled deeper into her slumber and I melted at how adorable she was.
Beca's giant headphones were placed on top of her laptop where a new mix was displayed on the screen. As my curiosity got the better of me, I couldn't help slipping on the headphones and playing the new addition to my best friend's masterpieces.
It was beautiful. The songs that she had mixed were about love yet with a hint of confusion and reluctance. A pang of jealousy flooded through my body as I realised that Beca had made this for someone that probably wasn't me. The songs were filled with so much emotion that I had to see where it was saved to see if I could figure out who it was about.
As the song was finishing and I was searching through file names but not finding anything to give any information away, I didn't notice a stirring next to me until I heard a faint yelp. I turned around quickly, hastily pulling off Beca's headphones in the process, to face Beca herself, who's cheeks were pink and eyes were wide as she realised what I had been listening to.
"So...who's it for Becs?" I asked with a wink and chuckled as Beca groaned. She face-planted her bed and I decided that there was only one way to get it out of her. I jumped on top of her and tickled her while she squealed. After a few minutes Beca finally gave in.
"Okay okay stop! I'll tell you!" Beca took a moment to steady her breathing. She mumbled something that I couldn't quite hear and turned her head so she wouldn't have to look at me.
"Sorry what was that?" I whispered into her ear.
"It's for you...I like you Chlo, a lot. I've liked you since the moment we met." I froze. I couldn't breathe and my mind took a moment to register what was going on and realise that I wasn't dreaming.
I must have stayed like that for a few moments too long as Beca shuffled to get free of me, noticing her distress, I moved out of her way but as she was about to leave the room, I was taken out of my thoughts and grabbed her arm. She turned to face me and tears were in her eyes, as soon as she looked at me she looked away and her eyes didn't leave the ground.
I jumped up and pulled her close, putting two fingers under her chin so that she would look at me. I smiled as her eyes locked on mine and pressed my lips against hers in a lingering kiss. As I pulled away our foreheads rested against eachother's and I could feel her warm breath against my face.
"I like you too Becs" I whispered. Her grin was the biggest grin I had ever seen on her face and she pulled me in for another kiss.
