The Great Ice Cream Heist That Failed (Very Quickly)

Yuna, Rikku, and Paine hid around the corner from Scrooge's ice cream freezer. Their mouths yearned to taste the cold, sweet, sugary goodness. But there was just one problem:

Scrooge.

Scrooge guarded his precious ice cream like he was guarding his life. 'Stay away from my ice cream!' he would always yell at the fairies when they tried to swipe some.

"So, what's the plan?" Rikku asked deviously.

"First things first. We need to get Scrooge away from the freezer," Paine told her.

Yuna gasped. "I just had an idea!" She flew back from the corner so Scrooge wouldn't overhear. Paine and Rikku followed. Huddled in a tight circle, she said to them in a low voice, "One of us can distract him, while the other two sneak away with the goods."

Rikku and Paine gave her unsure looks.

"Yuna…" Paine sighed.

Yuna was confused. "What?"

"We already tried that plan!" Rikku huffed. "It went horrible. I was almost turned into a fairy-sicle. Remember?" She trembled at the memory.

Yuna clasped her hands together. "Well, at first you don't succeed, try again."

"We won't be able to try again if we're frozen," Paine pointed out dryly.

Yuna ignored them. "So are you guys in or what?"

"Can't we just steal from that ninja girl instead?" Rikku asked sheepishly.

Paine made a face. "What fun is that?"

Rikku rubbed the back of her neck nervously. "Heh, heh, heh. Just asking."

"Okay, Gullwings! We're going with this plan," Yuna announced. "Y.R.P. in position!"

Paine and Rikku said in unison: "Yes ma'am!"

Yuna went over the plan in her head. Her and Paine were supposed to sneak into the freezer while Rikku distracted Scrooge (She'd made it clear that she wasn't going into that freezer again.).

"Ready?" Paine asked her.

"As always."

They then waited for Rikku to appear.

"Now maybe if I mixed blueberry with cucumber…" Scrooge muttered to himself. "That might make a good ice cream flavor…"

Paine smirked. "Looks like he's already preoccupied with something. Maybe this is our chance."

Yuna nodded in agreement. "Okay, let's go for it."

Yuna and Paine quietly drifted past the thinking duck and into the freezer. It was ice cream galore in there. Tired of just staring at the stuff, they dived into the freezer.

SMACK!

Yuna and Paine flew to the ground with a thud. "Owie!" whined Yuna. It suddenly got darker where she was. Looking up in fear she saw a furious Scrooge staring down at her with a crazed look in his eyes.

"Yunie! Paine!" Rikku cried out from above.

"I told you to stay away from my ice cream!" Scrooge yelled at the two fairies. "Now you must pay."

"No! We're sorry!" Yuna tried to apologize.

Paine made a face. "I don't think he's going to listen."

The two frozen fairies watched as Scrooge as advanced on them.

"Yunie!"

Rikku, perched on top of a wall, took another lick of the sea-salt ice cream that she had just stolen from the ninja girl. "Mmm. This stuff is good. You guys should try some." She offered some to her fairy friends next her.

Yuna and Paine shot her angry glares. They both had chips of frozen ice covering their whole body. Not to mention they were cold and shivering like crazy.

"R-Rikku," Yuna tried to scold her.

Rikku gave her a grin. "Paine? You want some?"

Paine looked like she was about ready to kill the blonde. "S-Shut u-up, Rik-k-k-ku!"

Rikku shrugged and went back the licking her sweet treat. "More for me then."

Yuna and Paine shot her, 'You-are-so-gonna-get-it,' glares.
