Waiting
As I stand here on the beautiful shore,
Waiting seems to be the only thing I can do.
Will you return to me someday?
I keep your promise locked safely inside my heart.
Your voice is fading, I am losing myself.
Please come back soon, for I fear losing you too.
The day we made that promise, so long ago,
it was a beautiful day such as this,
and we were filled with such desires.
Do dreams come true?
As I await the day for you to return,
the waves gently whisper along the shore,
assuring me that what we went through was real.
The sun blazes brightly, set against the deep blue sky.
I find such things don't matter without you around.
Time seems to stretch on forever,
just like the endless blue sky above me,
Will we finally reach the sky?
Until that day, that beautiful day when we meet again,
I will keep you locked inside my heart,
and I know you will come back to me someday.
And so, I will wait.
