Dancing In The Rain

Harry and Ginny walked hand in hand around the lake until they came to their secluded part of the bank hidden by a thicket of trees. They usually came here to escape every day life, grumpy stares from Ginny's brothers and Gryffindor girls that wished they were Ginny, to talk, kiss and generally be together.

"You know, I was going to ask you to the Yule ball but Neville got there first" said Harry thoughtfully.

"Hmmm. But only as a last resort and I wasn't even Neville's first chose. He asked Hermione first." replied Ginny quite grumpily

" Yeah...." he said hastily as Ginny hit him on arm quite hard. "But maybe after dancing with you all night I would have fallen madly in love with you and then.....well.....yeh."

"Are you madly in love with me now?"

"Maybe…"

"Anyway, why the hell are you bringing this up now?" she asked

"Well, I don't know, so" He began as he stood up and stood over Ginny "Genevra........Something..."

"Nothing"

"Genevra Nothing Weasley, Will you dance with me?"

"Oh you great prat...but... oh well, yes"

Harry put her arm around Ginny's waist and they slowly revolved around in a circle.
Suddenly the heavens opened and it chucked it down.

"Oh crap!!" swore Ginny

"Oh, Never mind, let it rain." said Harry as he leaned in to kiss her passionately. She smelled even better in the rain he thought to himself.

As they broke apart he asked her "Is your middle name really nothing?" They both laughed as they resumed their dancing in the rain.

"What happened to you two?" Exclaimed Hermione, as she stared at her two friends who now resembled drowned rats and were dripping water on the carpet of the Gryffindor common room.

"Got caught short in the rain, didn't we Ginny" Harry said as he grinned at Ginny, who giggled at him, which, Hermione noticed, was rather unlike her.

"Caught short!" She scolded, as she dried them off with her wand "It started raining an hour ago!"

"All I can say" He replied with a grin "Is that we like rain." And, to Hermione's surprise, both he and Ginny burst out laughing.
