A/N: This is just a little one chapter story on a scene that could've happened before the treehouse, wither storm, etc., basically when The Order of the Stone was just The Order of the Stone. Contains MagnusxEllegaard and minor episode four spoilers. I DO NOT own Minecraft: Story Mode. Enjoy!
(Magnus's POV)
All Magnus saw when he walked into Ellegaard's office that morning was Ellegaard, sitting in the corner and crying.
"Ellie," Magnus said, touching her shoulder, "What's the matter?"
Ellegaard shook her head before saying, "They don't like me..."
"What do you mean they don't like you? Who?" Magnus said, concerned
"Everyone!" Ellegaard sobbed, "The public! The people! They make fun of me, the inventions I try to make! Every move I make, they... They find a way to turn it against me!"
"Who cares what they think?" Magnus asked
"I do!" Ellegaard cried, sobbing into her cupped hands
Magnus looked at a broken Ellegaard. He stared at her in silence as she cried in the corner more, each sob and cry more intense than the last. Then, Magnus sat down next to her in the corner.
"Magnus," Ellegaard said, her voice breaking, "We already lied to the public about... About The Order... If they don't like my inventions, my personality, just plain old me... The only reason the people look up to me is because of a lie..."
Magnus looked at her with sympathy in his eyes as Ellegaard stared at the spot where the two walls met in the corner.
"You know," Magnus said, "They aren't too fond of me either."
Ellegaard sniffled before saying, "They don't?"
"Do you expect them to?" Magnus said, "The guy who started out as a nobody, is now 'MAGNUS THE ROUGE: TNT expert and king of Boomtown!'"
Ellegaard chuckled at Magnus's hand gestures as he said that.
"Well, you did become the King of Boomtown, beating out all the griefers there who've been wanting it for years..." Ellegaard said
"Well, you also did become a high authority in Redstonia, beating out all the inventors who've been wanting to make it big for years..." Magnus teased
"Ha ha, touché," Ellegaard said
"Well, my point is," Magnus said, "Is that whenever hate, hardships, or grief come toward you, you have to find a way to throw it back. Prove them wrong."
"But, how?" Ellegaard asked, "How will I prove them wrong?"
"Make something, do something amazing to show them you aren't just some person who put their hands to redstone," Magnus said
"And how will I do that? Is that even possible, on my own?" Ellegaard asked
"You don't have to do it alone, Ellie. We will do it," Magnus replied, standing up, holding his hand out to Ellegaard, "Together."
Ellegaard grabbed Magnus's hand and pulled herself off the ground.
"Sounds like a plan," Ellegaard replied
Magnus and Ellegaard walked to the table in Ellegaard's office and sat down. There was a bowl of fruit on the table. Ellegaard grabbed an apple from the bowl when Magnus said, "You know, not everyone hates you."
"Have you seen the people online, they all hate me!" Ellegaard said, "Name one person who doesn't hate me at this moment in time."
"Me," Magnus replied
