"We've got to stop doing this…" Dean murmured to his partner who lay beside him in bed. He groaned and rubbed his head, hardly believing it had happened again.
"What if Sam finds out?" He continued, "What will we do then?"
He turned and faced his partner, her screen bright in the dark room. He reached out and traced his fingers over her keyboard, and then with a soft smile reached over and kissed her.
As his mouth touched her screen, a pop-up appeared, saying she was low-battery.
"Better get you charged up then," Dean smiled and reached over the bed for Sam's laptop charger. He plugged it into the wall, and then hesitantly clicked Laptop into it.
"Is that better?" When he saw the charging icon on the screen he breathed a sigh of relief, "Honestly, you worry me so much sometimes."
It was 4am. Dean had spent all night with Laptop… God he could barely even think. She belonged to Sam. Not that Sam liked her in that way, but still, she was a good friend of his. Dean couldn't help but feel guilty when he slept with her. But then he thought of her sleek case, her beautiful clean keys, and that oh so soft mousepad…
Oh the nights he had spent with her had to have been the best he had ever had. She was better than anyone he had ever met, better than any man or woman, or anything in between.
She was so fast too. She'd start up and just keep going and going until she lost all her battery and just- damn. Dean knew he'd never find anyone as great as her.
And yet, she was still Sam's.
"Baby?" Dean asked.
She did nothing, simply lied on the bed beside him.
"Do you think… we should tell Sam?"
Laptop said nothing, and Dean sighed, "I know… he might not be okay with it, but I don't know if I can keep this secret going much longer. He'll find out eventually, and it'd be better if he heard it from us."
Laptop's screen dimmed.
"Hey, hey it'll be okay… he'll accept it. Well, eventually."
He traced his finger across the mousepad and she lit up again.
"How about we get some sleep, and we'll tell him in the morning?" He took her silence as an agreement and then carefully closed Laptop. He kissed her quickly and then with a smile set her off to the side.
He let himself get comfortable… and soon felt himself drifting off.
"What is Laptop doing in your bed?" Sam demanded, and Dean groggily opened his eyes. He glanced over at his lover and then sat up quickly.
"Um, Sam, there's uh, something me and Laptop want to tell you."
Sam crossed his arms, "What?"
"Me and Laptop… well, we're kind of…"
"Going out? Yeah, I know that, but leaving her in bed while you sleep, you could roll over and crush her you idiot." Sam sighed and picked Laptop up, and set her on the table beside the bed.
Dean stared in shock at his brother, "You… you knew?"
"Of course I knew, you weren't exactly hiding it very well. You've got to hide some of those files you two keep if you want to
Dean turned red, "Y-you saw-"
"Yeah…" Sam's face turned red as well, "I did. Look, just hide them next time okay?"
Dean nodded, dumbfounded. Sam was okay with it? But-
Dean put his hand on Laptop, "Guess we can finally go on a proper date then."
"Fine but I'm chaperoning." Sam argued.
"What!?"
"I'm not letting you take my precious girl out without supervision, what if you drop her or something!?"
Dean grumbled, "Damn it. Fine. But you're driving when we get hammered then."
"Sounds good."
Dean smiled slightly. He could hardly believe this was happening. Finally, he didn't have to be all secretive around Sam. He loved Laptop, and at last, he could yell it out to the world. Well, perhaps not literally.
After all… Laptop is pretty shy.
I love you Laptop.
