"Don't underestimate me! I know what I'm doing!" I'm not as weak as he seems to think I am.
••••••••••

"Miki," he sighed. "These guys, they're big, they're dangerous, they won't hesitate to kill you!" he was getting himself angry over nothing.
••••••••••

"I'm good, Kiba. I'm good at my job. Get it through your thick fur encrusted head." he rolled his eyes. Which made me roll mine too.
••••••••••

He always was telling me to do whatever I wanted - be a snotty kit, be lazy, be a ninja, be his best (human) friend. Be strong, be brave, be reckless, to just be happy. I told him this he frowned. "Be protected, be smart." he growled.
••••••••••

His eyes flashed and within a second he'd pinned me. "Kiba get off of me. You've made your point. If they pin me I'm dead. If they pin me I probably deserve it," I said.
••••••••••

Kiba flinched. "Miki, don't say that. If you die…? God, you deserve?" he was stumbling over his words. "Those things kill me Miki. I…" my stomach twisted, I was hurting him? I bit my lip and tears pricked at my eyes. His face softened and he rolled off of me. I sat up. "Please don't cry." he said.
••••••••••

I scoffed, "Kiba, please." he was situated a bit behind me so I couldn't see him. I wasn't sure if I could handle seeing his expression yet. He rested his head on my shoulder and I could feel his breath, hot on my neck. He pulled my swiftly against his chest.
••••••••••

"And you say I'm dense…" his lips brushed my cheek with uncharacteristic softness. He'd kissed my cheeks before but never so intimately.
••••••••••

"Kiba," I said a bit roughly. I spun around in his arms, "You are dense." I said. He smiled but didn't look happy. If anything he looked more upset and conflicted. I kissed his cheek frowning. " You've always been dense." I kissed the side of his mouth. "I know what you are getting at." I put my forehead to his. "So get over yourself" I whispered. His head tilted up and his lips met mine. After a few tentative moments we bother gathered our bearings. With a grunt he'd pinned me again. Our lips moved together hungrily. With a gasp he broke apart and air flooded our lungs. "Jeeze Kiba," I panted, "Way to make a point…"
••••••••••

"I know, right. You love me" his voice happy and proud. He grinned, "I'm that good,"
••••••••••

"Yeah, yeah, you love me to. So we're even," I smiled, "Does that mean you're cool with me going on this mission?" I asked, glancing over at him.
••••••••••

"I'm cool," he confirmed smiling and sat up.
••••••••••

"Good, not that it was going to change anything. I was going to go on this mission no matter what," I told him flatly, playfully. I'm a ninja. I go on missions, some will be dangerous. He'll just have to learn to deal.
••••••••••

He looked thoughtful before rising, "I'm going to talk to the Hokage," he started walking, " I've changed my mind, you aren't going on this mission," he looked back at me.
••••••••••

Shooting up from my spot on the ground, I was stunned, "What the heck Kiba!" I started towards him ready to show him just how dangerous I could be when I was mad. Who changes their mind that quickly? And way to kill a mood! Seriously!
••••••••••

He grinned widely and took a running position, "Not without me at least," he took off running.
••••••••••

My anger dissipated immediately. "Stupid jerk," I laughed and chased after him.
