It's uber-short, and PRETTY pointless. Takes place after Colette's gone numb and they've found the book of regeneration. Remember? 'Cause Genis says he wants to learn the Angelic language and Colette volunteers to teach him.

... Am I the only one who pays attention to the tiny details...? Oops... Hehe.

Oh, and it has ONE hint towards Genis x Lloyd, because I've absolutely fallen in love with the pairing of those two. Bleh. I don't even LIKE Colette. But she reminds me a lot of Linear, in both character design and role in the game. Not in personality, though. Meh.

Elegance

"See? So it's like having new words for everything." Colette said, pointing to a small piece of paper with Angelic writing on it. The writing style was similar to the current language, as Raine had said. It was mostly different words, but grammar changes were practically non-existent. Like another era, before the current, that had been long forgotten, but elegant and beautiful.

"I see." Genis nodded, then underlined a word with his finger. "What's this word mean, then?"

Colette gave a small smile. "What's the first word you think of when you see it?"

Genis stared at it for a few more moments. Love. His cheeks tinted pink, and his eyes darted across the room to Lloyd, who was lying on the bed, looking very much bored. "I..." He paused, embarrassed. "I see 'Heart'." He lied. Kratos raised an eyebrow at him, but remained silent.

Colette as well, gave the Elf a questioning look, wondering why he would lie, but after a few moments nodded slowly and said "It says love. A lot of the Angelic Language is very..." She looked thoughtful, as though trying to word something out. "Well, the word just comes to mind when you see it. It's more of believing than reading it."

"What does the whole thing say?" He asked, after a few moments. Colette gave a final glance to the slightly torn and crinkled paper that she'd earlier written on herself.

"It means 'Justice and Love will always win.'" The almost-Angel girl gave a smile, and glanced at Genis before nodding to the bed.

"I hate that saying." Lloyd groaned, tossing to lie on his side instead of his back. Genis climbed into the bed next to his, and dug through his travel bag.

"You're the one who's always saying the vows anyway." Genis pointed out voice muffled as he pulled the covers over himself so he could change into his pajamas hidden. Lloyd just shrugged aimlessly, and Colette dutifully informed Genis of his actions, laughing her petite laugh afterwards.

Genis returned from his burrow of blankets and tossed his day clothes towards his bag. They didn't land exactly in, but they had gone in it's general direction. The young elf mumbled a thanks to Colette as she picked up his stuff and put it away for him, shifting about in his bed to get comfortable.

Colette turned out the light for them, knowing that she wasn't going to sleep all night.

She wondered if she'd ever get any more time with her friends like this. Pointless, unimportant moments where they could have fun with something stupid.

She doubted it.

I was cold that night. Very, very cold.

MYAH. Review...? You know you want to.
