Karupin and the Saddened Ryoma
"Karupin..." The 17-year old black-green haired high school tennis player said sadly as he laid eyes on his beloved Himalayan cat.
"Meow.." The cat replied to his master's voice, but there was a hint of pain in the creatures voice.
The tennis player looked up at the vet that was checking out te furry feline. The vet sighed. "I'm sorry Echizen-kun, but Karupin has a non-curable disease only found in the Himalayan cat." He closed his eyes, regretting the word that were about to come out of his mouth, but it had to be said. "The best thing we can do for Karupin is to put him to sleep so he will be in less pain than he already has."
Ryoma looked down at the black marble counter top. A single tear trickled down his cheek and splashed onto the counter. Karupin walked over and licked his master's salty, tear-streaked cheek. Ryoma scratched the cat behind the ears.
It was a few moments later that Ryoma finally found his voice once again. "I'll miss you Karupin." He said solemnly as he cradled the cat in his arms. He looked up at the vet and nodded one solid nod. He would have no doubts about his choice... hopefully. Karupin began to purr in Ryoma's arms, destracing him for a moment, almost changing his mind. 'Karupin will be in a better place...' He thought to himself. "Akara-san, please make him..." Ryoma could finish his statement.
The vet nodded and took Karupin from Ryoma's hands who reluctantly let Akara-san take him away, the high school tennis player never to see the Himalayan feline again...
