Chapter One

"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" Lock said with a laugh. He, Shock, and Barrel had cornered a corpse child of about 7 and were having a bit of "fun" with him.

"What do ya' have there, squirt? Let me see!" Barrel grabbed a black and orange ball out of the kid's hand. Lock and Shock laughed.

"Oh, what are you gonna do next?" Shock asked mockingly. "Toss it here, Barrel!" The teenagers laughed as they through the ball around. The corpse child just stood in the corner whimpering.

"Hey, leave him alone!" The Trick-or-Treaters turned around to face Sarah Skellington, the daughter of the famous Jack Skellington, King of the Pumpkin Patch.

Sarah looked just like her dad, but was, well, 10 years old and a girl. She had thin, short black hair with a spider bow and a black and white lined dress. As she stood there in the alley she fiddled with her yo-yo, which ALWAYS had with her. Up and down, up and down, it never stopped.

"Well, lookie here! It's Jack and Sally's kid! What's her face, Sarah! Not very impressive is she?" Lock said with a laugh. The other two joined in.

"Shut your traps and give the kid his ball back," Sarah whispered in a scarily. "Now!" She glared angrily at the now quivering teenagers. As Sarah had whispered the alley had suddenly become cold.

"Here's your stupid ball, kid! Let's get out of here!" Lock threw the ball at the corpse child ran off with his cohorts.

"Are you okay?" Sarah asked the corpse child.

"Yah, I'm fine. Thanks for saving me from those big bullies."

"OK, well goodbye! And tell me if they do anything like this again. I'll scare them into months of silence!" And with that Sarah headed home.
