Disclaimer: I hold no ownership over ABC's Once Upon a Time series.
Summary: I just wanted to write a short, fluffy piece about the series' most fascinating couple, Rumplestiltskin and Belle. Reviews are always welcome.

A Normal Day's End
As the sounds of Tchaikovsky's ballet Swan Lake surrounded her, Belle worked through the library's backlog of consumer demands. After her "release" from the mental hospital, she became determined, among other things, to be the best librarian Storybrooke has ever seen. And, she smiled to herself, if only good words traveled back to Regina, all the better.
No reason for me to ever be locked up again, she nodded firmly to herself.
As her fingers flew along the keyboard in perfect accompaniment to the music, she heard the bell to the front door sound. Knowing most customers wanted to browse aimlessly, she continued in her work. There was something inherently soothing to the soul, she thought absently, that only good books and music can cure... and her library will be a soothing place for all who needed a respite from the everyday...
"My my Belle. You certainly seem busy enough for the both of us." An accented voice teased her ear, and she couldn't help but smile. Pausing in her typing, Belle turned in her swivel chair to look at the speaker.
As always, Mr. Gold was impeccably dressed. The infamous quote un-quote bad guy of Storybrooke never failed to give the impression of assured power. Of course, his smile was reserved for only her.
"Hello!" she couldn't help but beam at him, "What brings you by?"
Mr. Gold leaned on his cane a bit, "Business concluded early and I thought I'd drop by to invite you for an early supper."
No matter how long they courted, Belle was always touched by this man- his cordial, gentlemanly demeanor charmed her to no end.
"Of course Mr. Gold! Allow me to finish typing up this last bit, and I'll be set to leave."
He reached out and stroked her cheek, a familiar and intimate gesture that always gave her flutters. His smile widened at the dusty rose which stole across her cheeks.
"Once again my dear, please call me by my first name."
"Yes Rum." She teased. Shaking his head at her cheekiness, he held up 1 finger, as if to count the strike against her.
"I'll be browsing then, little one."
Nodding, she turned her attention back to the computer screen. Belle was happy that her paperwork seemed more bearable.
Of course, she mused as she finished up, Having something - someone- to care about makes any task easy to get through.
As she shut down her computer, she looked for Mr. Gold, ready for a quiet evening at his house. He sensed her eyes on him, and moved from the historical fiction section. After her coat was on, Mr. Gold offered an arm. Smiling, she took it, and together they headed home.
