With a flash of the ID and a quick nod to Kommandant Video, I am in the lab.

I pass my first experiment. Also, my first failure. It was intended to synthesize organic material for human consumption, but it works far too slow to be practical on the large scale. It assembles the material all right, but dose so one glucose molecule at a time. And it kept jamming too. I kept it for sentimental reasons (and to flavor my coffee).

I pass my second project. This one was very interesting. A peculiar organism discovered in the upper layers of the atmosphere. It appeared to manipulate gravity to reach food! Very promising. It would seek out particles of equal size, absorb them, and grow. Particles smaller than it have no visible effect on its size when absorbed, so instead it traps them in its latent pull, making them "satellites" so to speak. However, if it comes into contact with a particle larger than it, it will rupture attempting to absorb it. Fortunately, the "satellites" are injected with genetic material, basically tuning them into eggs. research had stagnated, but at least we had a constant supply of new test subjects.

I approach 3. A device for military and law enforcement to practice marksmanship and problem-solving skills. The robotic instructor greets me. You shoot colored cubes at the large structure, making groups of three same color cubes, causing them to fall away until only the core is left. I move on.

An aid hand me a document. One of the other labs discovered a micro-organism and they think it might be right up our alley. Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to take on another to take on another project. I will have to look into that when we amass the funding.

I take a deep breath as I approach the current object of our fancy. Energy beings! Attracted to (or perhaps created by) the high-energy reactions of the LCH. While the nature of the subjects hampered research at first, we were able to slow the being down enough to be easily observable by immersing them in a gel solution. However, they were still generating radiation when they impacted the sides. Requisitioning some nano-bots, we made track of light, just to see if they would follow. And they did! In another experiment, we placed a prism in the path, just to see what would happen. the being split into a spectrum! An intern blew up an egg in the break room microwave and we didn't even notice. It had signs of intelligence, yet otherwise behaved like light! We were very exited. We built a bigger and better habitat, with multiple sectors, and tracks of increasing complexity to continue our observations.

I sigh and sit down at my console. Ah, the wonders of science!

This was my attempt to write a fic about the Art style series, based upon my own experiences playing, introducing plot where there was none. Also, it my first work outside of inane ramblings. Please let me know what you think.
