OOOO

Something about seeing the small blonde pile in the red McKinley cheerleading uniform crumpled in the hallway touched Sam Evans. He knew he should just let her be, that women hate when you bother them while they cry-but he couldn't walk by her.

Instead, he sank to the floor beside of her. He knew her name was Quinn, that she had been with Finn Hudson. He knew she was gorgeous. He knew she was broken.

This wasn't the result of the many rumors he had heard since starting at McKinley. Anyone who was in the Glee Club was topic of general conversation for everyone else. He had heard Quinn's name frequently, but not really knowing anyone here, he ignored them.

Her whole body tensed when he finally settled.

"What?" She was trying to sound intimidating, and he was slightly affected by it.

He could tell that she used to be strong. She was still strong, but it was only traces of it compared to her former strength.

He wanted to give her a hug, and say that everything was going to be alright.

She was pretty enough that he wanted to tell her that he'd make sure everything would be good for her.

"What do you want?" Her voice had gained more strength with her aggravation.

"I just wanted to comfort you." He knew it sounded cheesy, but he couldn't think of a better way to say it.

She didn't say anything.

He placed a hand on his shoulder, attempting to show the comfort.

She didn't say anything or try to move it.

"You're broken, too." She said softly after enough moments had passed that he was almost fighting to remember what her voice sounded like.

"Yeah." He bit into his lip, "Yeah."

"It sucks." She turned her head as far from him as it could be in their seating arrangement.

"Yeah." He repeated, more of a sigh than a word.

"I'm sorry." She slowly stood, and walked away.

What she was sorry for, Sam couldn't be sure. Was it for breaking all the dreams he had conjured of fixing them both? Of maybe, being the one who she wanted to comfort her? He just watched her walk away, knowing the whole thing had been an irrational pipe-dream. One hand on her shoulder, and he wanted to put her back together.

He sat there for moments after she had gone, before propelling himself up. Heading to football practice, he pushed it out of his mind.

AN: I wrote this because I saw that Quinn and Sam are singing Lucky together, I love Jason Mraz and wish Glee would do a Jason Mraz episode because he spans soo much, and I thought, bet there are not many Quinn/Sam fics. So here you go.
