Notes: I'm happy!! At last I wrote a poem in English!! It's quite sad because it's a Sirius POV from prison (at the very beginning of his emprisonment). I hope you like it and review it because I need you all to keep on writing!!

Disclaimer: Of course I don't own Sirius, James or any HP characters, Joanne does and she is the best!!

MY DEAREST FRIEND

(A Prayer  from Azkaban)

I would have given up my life

For you to live; do know

That death's the only helpful grace

I'm waiting from above.

If any single spell could work

To bring you back to me,

I'd take my wand and never doubt

To shed my blood on it.

My dearest friend, you trusted me

More than I trust myself;

You were betrayed – I should have known!-

Because of our blind faith.

Can friendship last if power tempts?

Is there forever love?

I only guess; my greatest fear

Was to live all alone

In such a horrifying place

With no friends anymore.

I would give up my worthless all

In order to protect

The one you gave a precious soul,

The kid I should have met.

It is a rather terrible choice,

Perhaps I want to escape,

Perhaps I should die lonely here;

I don't know, let me say.

Can I forget you, when you were

The thing I valued most?

Throughout our years, your faithful hand

Never let me go wrong.

Will anybody explain to me

The reason why your corpse

Lays on a ground of evergreen,

Your soul's forever gone;

And higher, higher than the clouds,

You will forever live.

My tears are dropping wildly,

Blood freezing in my veins;

It's cold and dark and lonesome

In this prison of prayers.

You're just too young to be that far,

These thoughts can make me cry,

But I know that the worst thing is

The sadness of your child.

Listen, I promise, I will go

And tell him all the truth,

And punish then the dirty one

Who managed to sell you.

My dearest friend, I think you were

The bravest man of all,

And, lion-like, confronted death to give life to your son.

Until the day we meet again

I'll care for him so much

As you would always care for me

When we were naïve and young.

True love will last when

[laughter's gone,

no death can break the tie

made to unite two soul-mates' soul.
