"Boys, as you all know Sandra has left the force and with your clear up rate we couldn't close UCOS neither can we leave you without a serving officer. So I'd like to introduce you to DCI Sasha Millard." Strickland told the shocked boys.

"Don't look so scared, I don't bite." Sasha smiled.

"What'd you do to get stuck with us?" Gerry asked remembering how Sandra had been put in charge for shooting a dog.

"Nothing, when I saw the opening I went for it. I'd heard lots of good things about UCOS..."

"And you wanted in." Steve finished.

"In a nutshell, yeah." Sasha replied cheerily, and now that Strickland could see she was settling in he was getting ready to leave.

"Well I'm off, good luck Sasha. Be nice Gerry." Strickland said as he left and Sasha made herself comfy in Sandra's office.

"I don't see why we need her." Gerry moaned as he pointed to Sasha.

"Strickland's right, we need a serving officer."

"In the early days of UCOS Sandra used to go on holiday quite a lot and we coped without a serving offier."

"Yeah but I though you'd mentioned you had a PC with you."

"Yeah we had Clarky but we were still in charge."

"You probably scared the life out of the poor lad."

"Na, but we do not need another boss who'll never compare to Sandra anyway. She's just going to come in with her fresh ideas and young enthusiasm and mess it all up."

"To be fair she's not that much younger than Sandra." Steve pointed out.

"Not the point, Sandra was here from the beginning and didn't ever try to change us and understood us, no UCOS under her in there is going to be like a different department. UCOS as we know it is over."

"Gerry I know you miss Sandra but she's gone mate and Sasha's in charge now."

"For now, her cheeriness scares me, I plan on making her stay here as short and horrible as possible."

"Gerry!"

"No. I want rid of her and I'm doing it with or without your help."
