She didn't know what to call the. . . .things that she did with Chad at night, after everyone had gone to sleep. They definitely were not dates (at least, that's not what they were, in her opinion, anyway), and Chad and her were not friends, or were they?
They were frenemies in a way, but they were friends, but they were supposed to be enemies. Do you understand? If not, that's ok too, because she was confused too.
She looked at her watch, and as the time changed to twelve midnight, she saw a figure. As it came closer, she saw that it was Chad. She smiled.
For the next hour, they both wandered around the outside of the studio, and spoke to each other as if they were old friends. When the clock changed to one AM, they said their goodbyes, and went their separate ways.
It would all be hell tomorrow like usual. Chad would have to be Chad Dylan Cooper, the egotistical jerk, and Sonny Munroe would have to go back to being the girl from "Chuckle City." They would have to do their usual pointless "good" and "fine" spiel and act like they were enemies.
But then the time would change to twelve midnight again and all would be fine, for only an hour, but they both cherished that hour so much. They didn't have a image to keep and they didn't have to act like anyone else, only act like themselves.
Chad Dylan Cooper could be Chad, the guy who was caring and kind, and Sonny Munroe didn't have to be the person that was supposed to hate Mackenzie Falls and Chad Dylan Cooper with a passion.
Chad wished he didn't have an image to keep up with as "America's Most Hated Puppy Shover," and Sonny wished she could make peace between the two shows.
These all were wishes, wishes that never would come true. They hated the days, but loved the nights, even for an hour.
Things are different in the night then they are in the day.
