Warnings: Season 6 spoilery. Now Sam has his soul he can sleep again. It remains to be seen if that is a good thing or not.
A/N - just catching up on the drabbling weeks I missed...
Sam dreams sometimes.
Nothing to do with Death's wall – or at least he doesn't think so, though of course he can't be certain.
He's lying in bed, Jessica by his side, heartbreakingly beautiful. She reaches out, places a cool palm on his cheek. He leans into the touch, even though he knows this isn't really her.
"Why did you leave me, Sam? I miss you…," Jessica/Lucifer says
"I miss you too," he replies.
Sam always wakes up then, never sure whether his words had been aimed at Jess or Satan; and his heart aches with a formless longing, and regret.
