The rain storm had come upon her with a sudden crash of thunder, giving her no chance to gather up her scrolls and head for cover.

"Bloody hell." She cursed through clenched teeth as she tried to collect as many of her papers as she could before they all got ruined.

To make matters worse, it was a warm spring day and she had decided to forgo her cloak. Her thin, white, short sleeved shirt was doing little to keep her dry. The tree she had been sitting under provided little protection, as the wind pushed the raindrops into its protective cover. Her brown frizzy hair was starting to stick to her face, as she attempted to tuck locks of it behind her ear.

This was just what she needed; a sudden rain storm to ruin her hours of hard work on the potions essay Snape had assigned.

"Need a hand?" A voice called above the pitter patter of the rain. Hermione quickly turned, only to see Cedric Diggory approaching.

"No, I'm doing perfectly fine myself." She called back, turning back to her papers. By now, they were thoroughly soaked. She let out an exasperated yell.

"If I didn't know any better, I'd think that I have an uncanny knack to stumble upon you at the worst possible times." Cedric said with a smile as he entered the cover of the tree.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Hermione said with a glare.

"Well, there was that time you were digging through the rubbish bin. Oh, and remember the time you were wearing those mismatched mittens?"

"Yes, well, what about the time I came across you after you fell down the stairs?" Hermione bit back.

"You were late to class anyway." He flashed his annoyingly adorable smile as she blushed.

"If you're trying to use this situation as another attempt to kiss me, Cedric Diggory, you're bound to fail."

"If I wanted to kiss you, Hermione Granger, I would do it no matter what the situation."

"I… Oh, you are so infuriating!" She yelled, turning her back to him. She attempted to focus on her papers.

"You do know your shirt is white, right?" Cedric said. Hermione turned to see a sly grin on his face.

"Yes, and your point is?" Her temper was growing shorter and shorter.

"Look down and see for yourself."

She glared at him for a moment before looking down. She let out a frustrated scream as she realized that her shirt, due to that convenient rainstorm, had now turned completely see through.

"You are such a pervert!" She yelled at him, covering her chest with her arms. "Now give me your shirt." She demanded.

"Who's the pervert now?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I'm not kidding. Give me your shirt." She looked almost on the verge of tears.

It was one thing to be caught digging through a rubbish bin, or wearing mismatched mittens, but to be caught in a rainstorm wearing a white shirt was not only embarrassing, but exposing too.

He only smiled at her as he pulled off his yellow and blue Hufflepuff practice shirt and handed it to her.

"Thank you." She said, quickly slipping it over her head.

Instead of saying anything in return, Cedric quickly leaned forward and kissed her. Her eyes opened wide in shock before quickly fluttering closed.

When he pulled back, he smiled at her.

"I told you that if I wanted to kiss you I would do it no matter what."

"You are so arrogant."

"And you're so stubborn."

"Well, if you'll excuse me, I have better things to do." She said with a huff, and turned to walk away.

"And what could possibly be better then kissing me under a tree in the rain?"

Before she could answer, he pulled her back in for another kiss.

And at that moment, she really couldn't think of doing anything better then kissing Cedric Diggory under a tree in the rain.
