His eyes glazed over.

He couldn't believe this was happening.

Clutching the pillow right up to his chest and sticking his chin down into the fabric, Genesis Rhapsodos stared on in suspense and disbelief at the television screen. His bottom lip trembled as he watched with tears edging their way into the corners of his eyes, his knees digging deep into the bottom of the pillow and squishing it between his chin.

The main character, the guy!

He was totally rejecting her, breaking her heart!

This could not be happening…

Genesis let out a small sniff as the main female looked upon the boy she loved with tears overtaking her body, shaking her shoulders with terrible sobs. The boy turned away from her, breaking his hard gaze with his apparent ex-girlfriend and folding his arms with little resentment.

The SOLDIER hugged his pillow as the program faded to commercials, squeezing his eyes shut and bringing his arms tighter and tighter around the cushion.

It was all too much.

Genesis let out a howl in sorrow, flopping down onto the couch in a feeble position. He had been following this drama for months now, only to have such a cruel fate bestowed on one of his most beloved characters - the female, the seventeen year old girl with light brown wavy hair and soft green eyes. Not that he fancied her that much, but to have someone so sweet and loyal turned down so brutally! Genesis' heart ached at the thought of how a male could be so ruthless with the opposite gender. His poetic and romantic demeanour could not stand for such injustice!

With a pout, he fumbled his right hand down towards the floor and grasped the remote, throwing it at the television and hearing it connect with the off button with a loud thud.

Genesis didn't care.

Yes, he knew there was no point to that and was well aware that was not the proper use of a remote.

But the heartlessness! The indignity of it all! Why did love have to appear so bitter all the time?

"Why…?" Genesis mumbled to himself, wiping a hand over his eyes to remove any traces of tears. He continued to clutch the squishy pillow, pouting defensively at the blank television screen. His mako enhanced ears managed to catch the sound of an opening door, and immediately the SOLDIER leapt to his bare feet, quickly discarding the pillow and smoothing the wrinkles out of his favourite red shirt.

A rather exhausted Sephiroth poked his head into the lounge room, giving Genesis a skeptical look that questioned his friend's current state.

Wincing, Genesis realised that his eyes were probably still red, his face was probably still sulking and the free-to-air television guide was right open to the page that clearly advertised the drama he had been watching.

"Genesis, you never cease to amaze me." Sephiroth said slowly, a smirk appearing on his face. "Soap operas. You were watching a soap opera! Unbelievable!" The General's voice dissipated as he strolled down the hallway, a mischievous glint in his feline eyes.

Genesis just stood there, wishing that the grounds of Gaia would open up and swallow him then and there.

And Sephiroth would still mock him.

A/N: Oh gosh. That was so much fun to write.

Believe me XD;

Genesis reminded me of the type to watch soap operas, so I couldn't resist.

Please don't kill me. XDDD;
