Chapter 1.

The moon has always intrigued me. It has always had this strange attraction that I just couldn't put my finger on. More often than not I find myself staring up at the moon and let myself fall into a deep state of abyss. It's like a link that connects me to her, the moon. Like she Acknowledges me too.

More often than not, I feel tears rolling down my cheeks.

More often than not I feel her pain and her loneliness.

...

She woke up up to the sunlight on her face. She had fallen asleep to the calming effect of the moonlight on her skin. It had been a full moon night.

"Lily?!" She heard her father call from downstairs.

"Lily?! Are you gonna come down for breakfast or not. Your father and I have to leave for work." Her father was in a hurry apparently.

Her family. As in her two fathers and her 2 older brothers and 1 step brother, have, not so subtly, been organising Lily's 17th birthday party for the past month. They weren't as clever as they thought they were. Even though they are a clan of 4 Slytherins and 2 Gryffindors. Well the Gryffindors fall out of the expectation of subtlety anyway, but she had expected her own house to be better than that.

She got out of her bed and stretched out her arms. She combed her flaming red hair as she stood in front of the mirror.

Her hair we three shades of red, each of them getting highlighted as a certain kinda light hit them. She loved such a beautiful aspect of her hair. She liked to think that they each showed themselves as her mood changed. Dark rose, flaming copper and one shade with a golden tint which she swore only showed itself in the moonlight. They fell down till her lower back. She braided them over her one shoulder and made her way downstairs.

Her dark haired father stood at the stove, piling up the breakfast on the serving tray. Her blond haired step-father had just leaned down to give her father a kiss before taking the tray from him and made his way towards the huge round glass dining table. Albus and Scorpius were at the table solving a crossword puzzle, both with red and green pens in there hands respectively. It was apparently their thing, a competition of who can solve more.

That was a sad combination of Slytherin pride with Ravenclaw sadness. James's Girlfriend Alice was pouring juice into the glasses she had pulled out of the fridge, while she of scolding her boyfriend across the room. James was sitting at the dining table, across from Scorpius and Albus, drinking his morning protein shake and absentmindedly listening to his girlfriend's rant about him forgetting their upcoming anniversary.

"Lily, come join us for breakfast real quick then we have, uh, we have work in Diagon Alley. Right Draco?" Harry said to her a little hesitantly.

"Of course dear." Draco replied to his husband of 10 years as he sat a flaming bowl of food in front of Lily, a twinkle in his eye.

Lily rolled her eyes.

"Seriously, Gryffindors are such goody goody's. It's a misery to watch." She whispered to her step dad, who in return just smirked at her.

"What was that?" James asked as he heard her jab at his house.

"Oh, just that I know the perfect gift me and Father are gonna get Alice for your 4th anniversary." Lily said batting her eyelashes at him.

James only narrowed his eyes at that.

Alice rolled her eyes and came to sit by Lily, and put a juice glass beside her plate and kept one for herself.

"Honestly i don't understand why I keep expecting him to remember. He barely remebered to write down his own name on our OWLS test." told Lily.

Lily put her hand on Alice's arm in mock sympathy, "Oh honey, he won't realise your worth until he looses you. Which I hope never happens, as we all know, that James Is now out of good sense as he used up all the little of it her had when he caught you."

Alice giggled in hand as James glared at Lily.

"Keep this up and I am gonna burn that damn dog of yours." Lily gasped at James.

"You wouldn't." Lily said angrily.

"I might. He keeps shitting in my shoes."

At that Draco cleared his throat. "It will be much appreciated if there will nice clean talk at the table during the meals."

"Yes, Father." All the people in the room except Draco said the statement absent mindedly. It was like involuntary habit of all the members of Potter-Malfoy household to react that way, every time Draco used his Malfoy tone of voice.

It pissed him off and made all the other people feel a little less inferior to him. Even Harry, his own husband joined in, when he slipped into his Malfoy mode.

Lily can see a brief smirk on his face as he hid it with the brim of his tea cup but didn't say anything. Over the years even Draco Malfoy had accepted that reacting to our jabs only made it worse and that was the way we showed each other affection.

"And dad, I hope my 'secret' birthday party is not at the Burrow. I want to be in my own bed after I drink my self silly." She said to her dad, as his dug into her food as she whispered word secret at the table.

"No there won't be any drinking at the party." Harry said to her as he still stood at the stove.

"Oh but there will be a party? Good to know." At that her dad turned around with wide eyes.

Everybody around the table started sniggering. James laughed out loud.

"Uh ... you... eh.." Harry stuttered and looked at his husband. Draco once again hid his amusement into his teacup.

"Oh come on, dad. Chill. you people aren't really subtle. Plus I love all my gifts, thanks. In case I forget to thank you Tomorrow." She told her father innocently.

This time Draco outright laughed at his husband's expression.

"I told you she was a Slytherin through and through." He said.

"Tackless as ever, Potter." Scorpius said to her with a wink.

"Sometimes you are too clever for you own good, sister." Albus said

Those two were like twins. They definitely have this telepathy going on over there. She felt sorry for the people they are gonna end up with.

She just rolled her eyes at them.

That is when the wards alerted them of a guest.

"Are we expecting somebody." Draco said to his husband.

"I don't know." Harry said going into his auror mode. He made his way towards the front door, Draco following him.

They could hear a little commotion from the entryway as they still sat at the dinning table.

A little later both her fathers came back.

"Who was that." She asked them.

"No one." Harry said a little too fast.

"The only surprise you didn't manipulate us into getting you." Draco told her with a smirk.

She gave him a toothy grin, "oh goody, I love surprises."
