He spent the past five years carefully plying his trade. Every moment he was researching and experimenting. He even spoke with George Weasley about which ingredient, spells, and rituals would work best. No one knew what exactly what he was creating in the lab in the Manor's basement.

Finally it was finished the potion to fix everything. It was the only way to set the world right. The war had ruined so many lives and even years later the wizarding community was in shambles. Hogwarts was being rebuilt and classes were held in old store rooms and the like. Minerva McGonagall had been named Headmistress and she was doing her best to push forward. Diagon Alley the most magical city in England had been repaired but even still a cloud of gloom hung in the air. Its bright colors and odd angles looking like an old and worn muggle circus rather than the hub of the wizarding world.

He named his creation Nouveau Départ. He gathered his supplies and prepared for the ritual. This potion required absolute purity and so he cleansed himself with soap and water and spells and meditation. It took exactly on month to complete his preparations. The potion, the spell, and the circle had to be perfect. He knew that if his intentions were not pure and that if he was not completely focused he would fail and this was not something that could be repeated.

In the light of the waxing moon Draco Malfoy cast a circle of protection and prayed. It was old arcane magic but it was powerful. No one had attempted this kind of magic since the Founders walked the Earth.
He drank.
Pain.
Pain like nothing he had ever felt before erupted throughout his body, shifting, changing the shape of his very bones. He was getting smaller and before the pain died away he spoke one word… "Please."

Mother Magick herself wept for her child. The pain and suffering his in his life had led him to this moment, to this pain. She cried for him because her poor child wanted to set the wrongs of his past right to save the future. How could she deny him?
She couldn't.

He woke slowly and groaned. His body still ached. Looking around the familiar place, he saw that he was on the train. The Hogwarts Express. He knew all he had to do was make it a little while longer. Then everything would be right.

The first years stood just outside the great hall and Draco moved forward until he saw that familiar mop of black hair.
He tapped the boy on the shoulder while giving him his famous smirk. He extended his hand, "Hi! I'm Draco we met at Madam Malkin's. This is Pansy and Blaise. I didn't catch your name but I hope we will be good friends."
"Thanks mate! I remember talking with you at the shop I'm sure we'll get on great! I'm Harry and this is Ron and Hermione."
Draco knew what was to come but together the two, well the six, of them would change the future for the better.
