I pulled back my dark brown hair in an effort to get it out of my face. It was so hard to fly with it but good to have it long, just in case I needed a new look. I landed briskly on Ari's front step hoping he wasn't home. Mom always made me visit him when I was younger hoping it would "strengthen the relationship" in case he had to defend me against one of his psycho eraser friends and I always respected her opinion even after the "incident." I knocked almost silently with one of my knuckles and jumped back when someone was there instantly. "Hello, how are you," asked a woman with forced sweetness in her voice. Ari's new girlfriend I thought to myself returning the fake smile. "Just fricken wonderful," I replied pushing past her. I was too much of a hassle keeping track of all Ari's girlfriend's names so I didn't bother asking. "You must be Trinity," she said attempting to make conversation. I nodded pulling off my black hoodie to reveal a plain white tank top. Ari's house was always dreadfully humid for some reason. "Where is Ari?" I asked her showing no expression. She frowned for about a millisecond before regaining her forced sweetness. "You mean dad right" she asked putting emphasis on the word dad. "If you feel like calling him that I guess," was all I responded. She frowned again but didn't put back on the fake smile, lucky me. "He isn't here right now he should be back soon if you want to wait." And give you a chance to interrogate me? No way. "That's okay see you later," I said walking out the door without waiting for a response. I flew back home within a minute using the hyper speed I had inherited. I walked through the front door to see everyone gathered around the living room coffee table. Uh-oh this could not be good. "We have to move again," the littlest one, Ellie burst out the second she saw me. Her light blonde hair was covering her blue eyes as if to hide the fact that she had been crying. It had always been the hardest on Ellie when we moved because she had never had the chance to be in one place for more than two months. Very smooth way of telling her guys, just dumping it on her like that. "How would you even know how we told her, you were off visiting your father," Taylor shouted at me. It was always wonderful having the person who hated you knowing your thoughts. I decided to completely ignore her for once not wanting to upset Ellie anymore, to bad Gabriel didn't have the same thought. "Taylor you are not required to bring Ari into every fight you have with my little sister okay?' he snapped at her. Gabriel was a good leader but not the best at keeping his cool. "Gab, Taylor just let it go please," I said with a controlled tone. I walked over to Ellie brushing her blonde hair out of her eyes. "Don't worry we will find the nest and safest place for us where I can finally teach you how to swim," I said trying to comfort her. "Pinky swear?' she asked through a sniffle. "Cross my heart," I responded picking the little girl up.
